Which companies sponsor visas for software systems engineers in New Hampshire?
Defense and aerospace contractors are among the most active sponsors for software systems engineers in New Hampshire, with employers like BAE Systems, Raytheon Technologies, and DXC Technology appearing in Department of Labor LCA disclosure data. Healthcare technology firms and financial services companies based in Manchester and Nashua also file sponsorships regularly for this role. Sponsorship activity is not guaranteed and varies by employer and hiring cycle.
Which visa types are most common for software systems engineer roles in New Hampshire?
The H-1B is the most common visa type for software systems engineers in New Hampshire, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, systems engineering, or a closely related field. Some employers also sponsor L-1B visas for intracompany transferees with specialized knowledge. Canadian and Mexican nationals may explore the TN visa under the USMCA, which covers engineers and computer systems analysts without a lottery requirement.
Which cities in New Hampshire have the most software systems engineer sponsorship jobs?
Manchester and Nashua account for the largest share of software systems engineer sponsorship activity in New Hampshire, driven by the concentration of defense contractors, technology firms, and financial services companies in the southern part of the state. Bedford and Merrimack also have notable employer presences. Durham and Concord have smaller but active hiring markets, partly supported by proximity to the University of New Hampshire and state government technology contracts.
How to find software systems engineer visa sponsorship jobs in New Hampshire?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for visa sponsorship roles, making it straightforward to search for software systems engineer positions in New Hampshire without sorting through employers who don't sponsor. You can narrow results by location and role to surface relevant openings from defense contractors, healthcare technology firms, and other active sponsors in the Manchester and Nashua corridor. Migrate Mate is designed for international candidates who need confirmed sponsorship, not just general job postings.
Are there any state-specific considerations for software systems engineers seeking visa sponsorship in New Hampshire?
A significant portion of software systems engineering work in New Hampshire involves defense contractors, which means some roles require a U.S. security clearance. Non-U.S. citizens are generally ineligible for most security clearance levels, which can limit available positions at certain employers. Candidates should focus on roles at commercial technology, healthcare IT, and financial services firms where clearance is not required. The University of New Hampshire also generates a pipeline of OPT-eligible candidates that some employers factor into their sponsorship planning.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored software systems engineer jobs in New Hampshire?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
