Which technology companies sponsor Green Card visas in New Jersey?
Large employers with significant New Jersey technology operations, including Cognizant, Verizon, Johnson & Johnson, Conduent, and Comcast Technology Solutions, have consistent records of sponsoring Green Cards through the PERM labor certification process. Consulting firms and staffing companies with New Jersey offices also file regularly on behalf of software engineers, data analysts, and IT architects placed with client organizations throughout the state.
Which cities in New Jersey have the most technology Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Newark and Jersey City lead due to their proximity to New York City and concentration of financial technology and professional services firms. Edison and Parsippany are major hubs for IT consulting and enterprise software companies. Princeton attracts biotechnology and research-adjacent technology roles. The Route 1 corridor between New Brunswick and Trenton also supports a steady volume of technology positions with sponsorship activity.
What types of technology roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in New Jersey?
Software engineers, full-stack developers, data scientists, cloud architects, cybersecurity analysts, and IT project managers are among the most commonly sponsored roles in New Jersey. These positions generally meet the specialty occupation standard required for EB-2 and EB-3 employment-based Green Card categories because they require at minimum a bachelor's degree in a specific technical field such as computer science, information systems, or engineering.
How do I find technology Green Card sponsorship jobs in New Jersey?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship type, so you can search for technology roles in New Jersey where employers have indicated Green Card sponsorship availability. This saves significant time compared to manually screening postings. Filtering by location and role type on Migrate Mate surfaces software engineering, data, and IT positions from New Jersey employers actively willing to support permanent residency applications.
Are there any New Jersey-specific considerations for Green Card sponsorship in technology?
New Jersey's high concentration of IT consulting and staffing firms means many technology workers are placed at third-party client sites, which can complicate PERM labor certification because the employer of record must demonstrate a bona fide permanent job opening. Workers in these arrangements should confirm that the sponsoring entity is their direct employer, not a client company. New Jersey also falls under the USCIS Newark sub-office jurisdiction, which handles I-485 adjustment of status filings for local applicants.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card technology jobs in New Jersey?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
