Which companies sponsor visas for new business development roles in New Jersey?
Several large employers with significant New Jersey operations have sponsored visas for business development professionals, including Johnson & Johnson, Cognizant, Conduent, Prudential Financial, and Merck. Consulting firms and technology services companies headquartered or regionally based in New Jersey also appear frequently in Department of Labor sponsorship records for business development and client-facing commercial roles.
Which visa types are most common for new business development roles in New Jersey?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa category for new business development positions in New Jersey, provided the role requires a specific bachelor's degree or higher in a related field such as business, marketing, or management. The L-1B and L-1A categories are also relevant for professionals transferring from a foreign affiliate into a U.S.-based business development function with the same employer.
Which cities in New Jersey have the most new business development sponsorship jobs?
Newark, Jersey City, Edison, Parsippany, and Princeton are among the most active markets for new business development hiring in New Jersey. Jersey City benefits from proximity to Manhattan's financial sector, while Edison and Parsippany host a high concentration of pharmaceutical and technology company offices that regularly hire for commercial and business development functions.
How to find new business development visa sponsorship jobs in New Jersey?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it easier to identify new business development roles in New Jersey without sorting through positions that don't support international candidates. You can search by state and role type to surface companies actively hiring and willing to sponsor, which saves significant time compared to reviewing general job postings with no sponsorship information.
Are there any state-specific considerations for new business development professionals seeking sponsorship in New Jersey?
New Jersey's high concentration of life sciences, pharmaceutical, and financial services employers means that business development roles here often require industry-specific knowledge, which can strengthen a specialty occupation case for H-1B purposes. The state's proximity to New York City also means prevailing wage benchmarks tend to reflect a high-cost metro area, so employers sponsoring roles in northern New Jersey counties typically file under the New York-Newark-Jersey City wage region.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored new business development jobs in New Jersey?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
