The General Services Department (GSD) supports the operations of state government by providing essential services, including procurement, risk management, facilities management, transportation services, and printing services.
The Transportation Services Division (TSD), State Centralized Fleet Authority Bureau (SCFA) manages the state's fleet of vehicles, ensuring safe, reliable, and cost-effective transportation solutions for state agencies. TSD provides vehicle leasing, maintenance, fuel services, and fleet management expertise to support government operations statewide. In addition, TSD manages the state two aircrafts along with the acquisition, inventory, and disposal of surplus state property.

PURPOSE:
The Transportation Services Division's (TSD's) Accountant Auditor provides billing information and support to TSD customers and vendors to facilitate prompt payment of invoices and ensure compliance with all accounting principles and standards. This position also ensures correct procurement documents and processes are in place with Statewide Price Agreements, the State of New Mexico's Fleet of Vehicles as well as the State Aircraft Operations and Surplus Property Bureau activities are recorded and tracked.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Audit and correct invoices to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Maintain and update procurement tools for the acquisition of services and parts.
- Provide recommendations on Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Invitations to Bid (ITBs).
- Create and manage purchase orders for all TSD vendors to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.
- Maintain accurate financial ledgers and records.
- Manage credit balances and process refunds, resolve account discrepancies.
- Oversee all accounting transactions related to Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP).
CUSTOMERS:
Executive, Judicial, Legislative and public agencies that utilize TSD Services.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, or Business Administration and two (2) years directly related work experience in accounting, auditing, finance, and/or budgeting. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
Selected candidate must have and maintain a current and valid Driver's License, free of all restrictions. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed primarily in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer use to include working with copiers, printers, as well as, phone usage; with extended periods of sitting, standing, bending, squatting, reaching and kneeling. Must have ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
