Which companies sponsor visas for assistant operations managers in New York?
Large employers with established immigration programs are the most consistent sponsors. In New York, that includes hospital systems like NewYork-Presbyterian and Northwell Health, logistics operators like Amazon and FedEx, financial institutions like Citigroup and JPMorgan Chase, and hospitality groups managing major hotel properties in New York City. Multinational corporations with New York headquarters are generally better positioned to support H-1B visa and other work visa petitions than smaller regional employers.
Which visa types are most common for assistant operations manager roles in New York?
The H-1B is the most frequently used visa for assistant operations manager positions, provided the role requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as business administration, supply chain management, or industrial engineering. Some candidates qualify through the TN visa if they are Canadian or Mexican nationals working in a listed USMCA occupation. Those with extraordinary ability or multinational manager experience may explore O-1 visa or L-1 visa pathways respectively.
Which cities in New York have the most assistant operations manager sponsorship jobs?
New York City accounts for the vast majority of sponsored assistant operations manager positions in the state, driven by its concentration of corporate offices, hospital networks, logistics facilities, and hospitality employers. Buffalo and Rochester have a smaller but active market, particularly in healthcare and manufacturing operations. Albany sees some activity in government-adjacent operations roles. For most international candidates, New York City offers the widest range of sponsoring employers.

Are there any New York-specific considerations for assistant operations manager visa sponsorship?
New York's high cost of living means prevailing wage requirements under the H-1B can be significant, since the Department of Labor sets wage levels based on local market data. Employers in New York City must meet some of the highest prevailing wage thresholds in the country for operations roles. New York also has several universities, including Cornell and NYU, that produce graduates who transition from OPT into sponsored assistant operations manager positions, so employers in the state are generally familiar with the sponsorship process.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored assistant operations manager jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
