WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Vice President, Project & Program Management to work in the New York City area, NY.
Your Impact
- Serve in a program manager role on a mega power project delivered via various delivery methods
- Serve as the Owners Representative, Delivery Partner, and/or Independent PMO
- Lead the delivery of multiple connected power projects, through the preliminary design, oversight of the final design, oversight of construction and closeout phases
- Manage the commercial interest of the client while driving the on-time and on-budget delivery
- Develop contract packaging plans for project within the program
- Responsible for independent review of project progress
- Perform schedule review and analysis
- Provide solutions to project issues
- Review and strategize improvement to key operational performance metrics
- Support and empower staff and direct reports to execute project assignments on time and on budget
- Develop and maintain Project Management Plans to include Program Controls, Document Control, Design Management, Construction Management, Risk Management, Safety Management, Quality Control, and Environmental Compliance
- Develop and maintain relationships with public and private sector clients, agencies, partner firms and sub-consultants, as well as other external stakeholders such as vendors and suppliers
- Lead staff development which includes mentoring, training, coaching and professional development
- Accountable for overall management and successful execution of major projects within the power and energy market, monitoring internal and external events, expenses, performance, and profitability
- Create a learning culture that values innovative subject matter expertise and fosters effective and continual personal development
- Develop and implement a communication strategy to increase the effectiveness of discipline-related processes, systems, and practices, and mitigating discipline-related risks
- Serve as program management subject matter expert to a variety of internal / external entities including Federal, State, and Local Agencies, Clients, Subcontractors, industry-related groups, and various government and community entities
- Manage overall delivery team’s performance and provide inspiring leadership to assigned management and staff
- Develop extensive high-level business contacts and client base for providing high program management services including identifying additional business development opportunities, and cross-selling of other WSP capabilities
- Collaborate with professionals and senior leadership from a variety of disciplines to provide future ready solutions for clients
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business and client needs
Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Management
- 15+ years of relevant Program Management experience, including 5+ years of experience in managing the delivery of major power programs
- Proven experience in leading the delivery of public infrastructure programs through all phases of planning, design, construction and commissioning, with construction costs exceeding $1B, as Program Manager
- Proficiency with power engineering principles, practices, process, standard of care, and the application to permitting and project work-related issues
- Familiarity with New York power utility clients’ or similar agency policies and procedures in general and with particular emphasis on construction safety
- Track record of driving programs to completion on or ahead of schedule
- Strong commercial management skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Excellent computer skills - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
