Which companies sponsor visas for project management leads in North Carolina?
Employers with consistent H-1B sponsorship records for project management roles in North Carolina include Lenovo's North American headquarters in Morrisville, Red Hat in Raleigh, Fidelity Investments and Bank of America in Charlotte, and large healthcare systems like Duke Health and Novant Health. Defense contractors around Fayetteville and Research Triangle Park tenants in life sciences also file sponsorship petitions regularly for senior project management positions.
Which visa types are most common for project management lead roles in North Carolina?
The H-1B is the most common visa for project management leads in North Carolina, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Some candidates enter through L-1A intracompany transfers, particularly at multinationals like Lenovo or Cisco. Candidates from Canada or Mexico may qualify under the TN visa, which lists management consultants as an eligible category.
Which cities in North Carolina have the most project management lead sponsorship jobs?
Raleigh and the broader Research Triangle Park area, including Durham and Cary, account for the highest concentration of sponsored project management lead positions in North Carolina, driven by tech, biotech, and enterprise software employers. Charlotte follows closely due to its large financial services and energy sector presence. Smaller but active markets include Greensboro, where logistics and manufacturing employers hire project management talent with sponsorship.
How to find project management lead visa sponsorship jobs in North Carolina?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse project management lead openings in North Carolina without sorting through roles that don't offer sponsorship. You can narrow results to the Research Triangle or Charlotte metro areas and focus on employers in tech, life sciences, or financial services, which are the sectors most actively sponsoring this role in the state.
Are there state-specific considerations for project management leads seeking visa sponsorship in North Carolina?
North Carolina's Research Triangle Park is one of the densest concentrations of H-1B-filing employers in the Southeast, which means project management leads benefit from a competitive regional market with multiple active sponsors. The state's strong pipeline from NC State, UNC Chapel Hill, and Duke also means employers are accustomed to hiring internationally credentialed candidates. Prevailing wage requirements apply statewide, so sponsored roles must meet Department of Labor wage determinations for the specific metro area and job classification.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project management lead jobs in North Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
