Which companies sponsor visas for project management specialists in North Carolina?
Employers with documented H-1B visa sponsorship histories for project management roles in North Carolina include Lenovo (global headquarters in Morrisville), Red Hat, Cisco, Bank of America and Wells Fargo in Charlotte, and large health systems such as Duke University Health System and UNC Health. Defense contractors operating around Fort Liberty, including Booz Allen Hamilton and CACI, also sponsor project management specialists.
Which visa types are most common for project management specialist roles in North Carolina?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for project management specialists in North Carolina, provided the role requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific discipline such as engineering, information systems, or business. Candidates with multinational company experience may qualify for an L-1B intracompany transfer. Applicants with exceptional records of leading large-scale programs may explore the O-1A, though that standard is demanding.
Which cities in North Carolina have the most project management specialist sponsorship jobs?
The Research Triangle area, covering Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill, generates the highest concentration of project management sponsorship jobs, driven by its technology and life sciences sectors. Charlotte is the second-largest hub, anchored by financial services and energy firms. Greensboro and Winston-Salem in the Triad also post sponsorship roles, particularly in manufacturing, logistics, and healthcare operations.
How to find project management specialist visa sponsorship jobs in North Carolina?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for roles where employers have indicated visa sponsorship availability, making it practical to search for project management specialist positions across North Carolina without sorting through roles that exclude international candidates. You can narrow results by metro area, industry sector, and visa type, which is particularly useful given how spread out sponsoring employers are across the Research Triangle, Charlotte, and the Triad.
Are there state-specific or role-specific considerations for project management specialists seeking sponsorship in North Carolina?
North Carolina's Research Triangle Park hosts a high density of technology and pharmaceutical companies that regularly file Labor Condition Applications for project management roles, which supports prevailing wage compliance required under H-1B rules. Several major state universities, including NC State and UNC Chapel Hill, produce graduate pipelines that employers draw from, so candidates with advanced degrees in engineering or information technology tend to be competitive for sponsored positions in this market.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project management specialist jobs in North Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
