Which companies sponsor visas for project management specialists in Texas?
Large employers with established international hiring programs are the most consistent sponsors. In Texas, that includes energy companies like ExxonMobil, Chevron, and Halliburton in Houston, defense and aerospace firms like Lockheed Martin and Boeing in the DFW area, and technology companies like Dell, Texas Instruments, and Oracle in Austin and Dallas. Consulting firms with Texas offices, including Deloitte and Accenture, also sponsor project management roles regularly.
Which visa types are most common for project management specialist roles in Texas?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for project management specialists in Texas, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as engineering, business, or information systems. Candidates already holding L-1 visas through intracompany transfers and those on TN visa status (for Canadian or Mexican nationals) are also well-represented in Texas-based project management roles.
Which cities in Texas have the most project management specialist sponsorship jobs?
Houston leads the state for project management specialist sponsorship, concentrated in the energy and petrochemical sectors clustered along the Gulf Coast. Dallas-Fort Worth follows closely, with demand across financial services, defense, and logistics. Austin has seen steady growth in project management hiring tied to its expanding technology sector, and San Antonio contributes through military, healthcare, and cybersecurity-adjacent project work.
How to find project management specialist visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates searching for visa sponsorship roles, and filters directly to project management specialist positions in Texas. Rather than sorting through postings that don't address sponsorship, Migrate Mate surfaces employers with active sponsorship histories in the state, which is particularly useful given how spread out Texas hiring is across Houston, Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio.
Are there any Texas-specific factors that affect visa sponsorship for project management specialists?
Texas has no state income tax, which affects prevailing wage comparisons under the Department of Labor's LCA requirements, since employers must still meet federal prevailing wage levels regardless of state tax treatment. The state's concentration of energy sector employers also means many project management roles involve field operations, which can raise questions about work location specificity on the LCA. Candidates working across multiple Texas sites should confirm how their employer documents the primary worksite.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project management specialist jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
