Which companies sponsor visas for project management specialists in Kansas?
Aerospace and defense employers in Wichita, including Spirit AeroSystems and Textron Aviation, have sponsored work visas for project management specialists. In the Kansas City metro area, healthcare systems, utilities like Evergy, and technology firms have filed Labor Condition Applications for these roles. Federal contractors operating in and around Topeka also represent a consistent source of project management sponsorship activity in the state.
Which visa types are most common for project management specialist roles in Kansas?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for project management specialists in Kansas, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as business, engineering, or information technology. Some candidates from Canada or Mexico may pursue TN status under the USMCA. Australian citizens may be eligible for the E-3 visa. L-1 transfers are also used when candidates move internally within a multinational employer.
Which cities in Kansas have the most project management specialist sponsorship jobs?
Wichita leads in volume due to its concentration of aerospace manufacturers and defense contractors, which routinely hire project management professionals for complex, multi-phase programs. The Kansas City metro area, straddling the Kansas-Missouri border, is the second-largest market and includes healthcare, technology, and financial services employers. Topeka has a smaller but steady base of state government contractors and utility companies that sponsor project management roles.
How to find project management specialist visa sponsorship jobs in Kansas?
Migrate Mate is a job board built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship in the U.S. You can filter by state and role to see project management specialist positions in Kansas where employers have indicated sponsorship willingness. This is more efficient than sorting through general job postings that rarely disclose sponsorship status upfront, particularly for Wichita-area aerospace roles and Kansas City healthcare positions where demand is highest.
What should international project management specialists know about working in Kansas?
Kansas falls within the U.S. Department of Labor's prevailing wage system, so sponsoring employers must pay wages that meet the DOL-determined level for the specific role and geographic area. Wichita and Kansas City have different wage determinations, so the prevailing wage for the same job title can differ between cities. Candidates with PMP certification or a degree in engineering, information systems, or business administration are better positioned for specialty occupation approval from USCIS.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project management specialist jobs in Kansas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
