Which companies in Ohio sponsor visas for finance managers?
Several large Ohio-based employers have established records of sponsoring finance managers through H-1B and other work visa programs. These include JPMorgan Chase and KeyBank in Cleveland, Nationwide Insurance and Cardinal Health in Columbus, and Fifth Third Bank and Procter and Gamble in Cincinnati. Manufacturing conglomerates like Parker Hannifin also hire internationally for senior finance roles, particularly in financial planning, analysis, and treasury functions.
What visa types are most common for finance manager roles in Ohio?
The H-1B is the most commonly used visa for finance manager positions in Ohio, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in finance, accounting, or a related field. Some candidates transition from F-1 OPT or STEM OPT into H-1B sponsorship. Multinational companies with Ohio operations, such as Procter and Gamble, may also sponsor L-1 visas for finance managers transferring from affiliated foreign offices.
Which Ohio cities have the most finance manager visa sponsorship jobs?
Columbus accounts for the largest share of finance manager sponsorship activity in Ohio, driven by its concentration of corporate headquarters in insurance, retail, and financial services. Cleveland follows closely, with a strong presence of banking institutions and healthcare conglomerates. Cincinnati's base of consumer goods and regional banking firms also generates consistent demand. Smaller markets like Toledo and Dayton tend to have more limited sponsorship opportunities for this role.
How to find finance manager visa sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate is a job board built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship, and it filters finance manager roles by state so you can focus on Ohio employers. Beyond browsing listings, reviewing Department of Labor LCA disclosure data helps identify which Ohio companies have actively filed for finance manager positions in recent years, giving you a more targeted list of employers to approach directly.
Are there any Ohio-specific factors finance managers should know before pursuing sponsorship?
Ohio employers sponsoring H-1B finance managers must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements, which are determined by the specific metropolitan area, so Columbus, Cleveland, and Cincinnati each have distinct wage benchmarks for this role. Ohio State University and Case Western Reserve University produce strong domestic finance graduate pipelines, meaning international candidates often stand out most when they bring specialized expertise in areas like FP&A, risk management, or international treasury operations.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored finance manager jobs in Ohio?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
