Which companies sponsor visas for finance managers in New York?
Large financial institutions are the most consistent sponsors, including JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, Citigroup, Morgan Stanley, and BlackRock, all headquartered or heavily staffed in New York. Global consulting firms like Deloitte and PwC also sponsor finance manager roles across their New York offices. Multinational corporations with regional headquarters in the state, particularly in industries like media, technology, and healthcare, round out the sponsoring employer pool.
Which visa types are most common for finance manager roles in New York?
The H-1B is the most widely used visa for finance managers in New York, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. L-1A visas are also common for managers transferring from a foreign affiliate of a multinational firm. Candidates with extraordinary achievement may pursue the O-1, while some employers sponsor EB-2 or EB-3 green card petitions for long-term hires.
How to find finance manager visa sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse finance manager roles in New York without sorting through positions that won't support international candidates. You can search by location, role, and visa type to identify employers actively filing sponsorships. Given the volume of financial services hiring in New York, new finance manager sponsorship postings appear regularly on Migrate Mate across both large institutions and mid-sized firms.
Which cities in New York have the most finance manager sponsorship jobs?
New York City, particularly Manhattan's Midtown and Financial District neighborhoods, accounts for the overwhelming majority of finance manager sponsorship activity in the state. Long Island City in Queens has grown as a secondary hub following corporate office expansions. Outside the city, White Plains and Melville on Long Island host regional offices of financial services and insurance firms that occasionally sponsor finance manager positions.
Are there any state-specific considerations for finance manager visa sponsorship in New York?
New York employers sponsoring H-1B finance managers must meet the Department of Labor's prevailing wage requirements, which reflect the state's high cost of living and are among the highest in the country for finance roles. New York City's dense concentration of financial regulators and compliance-heavy industries means finance manager roles often require candidates with specialized credentials like CPA or CFA designations, which can strengthen a visa petition by reinforcing the specialty occupation classification.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored finance manager jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
