Which companies sponsor visas for finance managers in Minnesota?
U.S. Bancorp, Ameriprise Financial, Securian Financial, and UnitedHealth Group are among the most active sponsors of finance manager roles in Minnesota. Large healthcare systems including Mayo Clinic and Allina Health also hire and sponsor internationally. Manufacturing companies like 3M and Ecolab, both headquartered in the Twin Cities, regularly file H-1B visa petitions for finance and accounting management positions.
Which visa types are most common for finance manager roles in Minnesota?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for finance managers in Minnesota, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, qualifying it as a specialty occupation. Some candidates transition from OPT or STEM OPT extensions while employed. Candidates with extraordinary achievement in finance may also qualify for the O-1A, though this is less common for corporate finance manager roles.
Which cities in Minnesota have the most finance manager sponsorship jobs?
Minneapolis and Saint Paul account for the overwhelming majority of finance manager sponsorship activity in Minnesota. The Twin Cities metro hosts the headquarters of multiple Fortune 500 companies with active international hiring programs. Rochester sees some demand driven by Mayo Clinic's finance operations. Smaller markets like Bloomington and Eden Prairie, which house large corporate campuses, occasionally post sponsored finance manager roles as well.
How to find finance manager visa sponsorship jobs in Minnesota?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for visa sponsorship eligibility, making it a practical starting point for finance manager roles in Minnesota. You can search by state and role to surface employers who have a documented history of sponsoring international candidates. Because Minnesota's finance job market is concentrated in the Twin Cities, filtering by the Minneapolis-Saint Paul metro on Migrate Mate will capture the widest range of relevant opportunities.
Are there any state-specific considerations for finance managers pursuing sponsorship in Minnesota?
Minnesota's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters means many finance manager openings come from large, established employers with in-house immigration support and legal resources, which tends to make the sponsorship process more straightforward than at smaller firms. The University of Minnesota and Carlson School of Management supply a steady pipeline of international finance graduates who often pursue H-1B sponsorship locally, meaning employers in the state are generally familiar with the process.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored finance manager jobs in Minnesota?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
