Which companies sponsor visas for quality assurance engineers in Oklahoma?
Spirit AeroSystems in Tulsa is one of the more active sponsors in the state, given its scale in aerospace manufacturing. Other employers that have sponsored QA engineering roles include defense contractors, energy companies operating out of Oklahoma City, and medical device manufacturers. Sponsorship activity tends to follow larger employers with formal HR infrastructure and existing immigration processes.
Which visa types are most common for quality assurance engineer roles in Oklahoma?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa category for quality assurance engineers, since the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field, qualifying it as a specialty occupation. Some employers also use the L-1B for intracompany transfers of engineers with specialized knowledge. TN visa status is available to Canadian and Mexican engineers in qualifying engineering occupations under USMCA.
Which cities in Oklahoma have the most quality assurance engineer sponsorship jobs?
Tulsa generates the most activity for QA engineers, driven by its aerospace and manufacturing base, including Spirit AeroSystems and related supply chain employers. Oklahoma City follows, with opportunities across defense, energy services, and state government contractors. Stillwater occasionally has openings tied to Oklahoma State University research and affiliated industry partners, though volume there is lower.
How to find quality assurance engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Oklahoma?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to search for quality assurance engineer roles in Oklahoma without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. You can filter by state and role type to surface relevant openings from aerospace, manufacturing, and defense employers in Tulsa and Oklahoma City who are actively hiring international candidates.
Are there any state-specific factors that affect QA engineer visa sponsorship in Oklahoma?
Oklahoma's sponsoring employers are concentrated in aerospace, oil and gas services, and defense, so QA engineers with domain experience in those industries tend to be more competitive. Oklahoma State University and the University of Oklahoma produce engineering graduates who sometimes join local employers on OPT before transitioning to H-1B sponsorship. The Department of Labor's prevailing wage determinations for QA engineers in Oklahoma reflect the local cost of labor, which employers must meet when filing an H-1B petition.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored quality assurance engineer jobs in Oklahoma?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
