Which companies sponsor visas for quality assurance engineers in South Carolina?
BMW Manufacturing in Spartanburg, Bosch, Michelin, and Lockheed Martin have all filed Labor Condition Applications for quality assurance and engineering roles in South Carolina. Larger manufacturers and defense contractors in the state are the most consistent sponsors, as they have established HR infrastructure and legal teams experienced with H-1B visa petitions. Smaller contract manufacturers occasionally sponsor as well, though less frequently.
Which visa types are most common for quality assurance engineer roles in South Carolina?
The H-1B is the most common visa for quality assurance engineers in South Carolina, as QA engineering roles requiring a bachelor's degree in a technical field typically qualify as specialty occupations. Candidates from Australia may also pursue the E-3 visa. Those with Canadian or Mexican citizenship can explore the TN visa under the USMCA, as quality assurance engineers fall within eligible professional categories.
Which cities in South Carolina have the most quality assurance engineer sponsorship jobs?
Greenville and Spartanburg lead for QA engineering sponsorship activity, driven by the concentration of automotive and advanced manufacturing employers in the Upstate region. Columbia, as the state capital and home to major defense and technology contractors, is the next most active market. Charleston has a growing aerospace and technology presence, with companies like Boeing supporting QA engineering demand there.
How to find quality assurance engineer visa sponsorship jobs in South Carolina?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters quality assurance engineer roles by visa sponsorship availability, so you can focus on South Carolina employers who have a documented history of sponsoring. Rather than sorting through general job postings, Migrate Mate surfaces roles where sponsorship is a realistic part of the hiring process, saving time for candidates navigating H-1B or other work visa pathways.
Are there state-specific factors that affect visa sponsorship for QA engineers in South Carolina?
South Carolina's manufacturing sector, particularly automotive suppliers clustered around the BMW Spartanburg plant, creates consistent demand for quality assurance engineers with specialized process knowledge. Employers here must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements tied to the Greenville-Spartanburg and Columbia metropolitan areas, which affect what they'll pay sponsored workers. Clemson University's engineering programs also generate a local pipeline that some employers tap before seeking international candidates.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored quality assurance engineer jobs in South Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
