Which companies sponsor visas for quality assurance engineers in Ohio?
Several major Ohio employers have a documented history of sponsoring work visas for quality assurance engineers. These include Nationwide Insurance, Rockwell Automation, Battelle Memorial Institute, Cardinal Health, and Honda of America Manufacturing. Automotive suppliers and medical device manufacturers concentrated in the Columbus, Cleveland, and Dayton corridors also regularly file sponsorship petitions for QA roles requiring specialized technical expertise.
Which visa types are most common for quality assurance engineer roles in Ohio?
The H-1B is the most common visa for quality assurance engineers in Ohio, as QA roles typically qualify as specialty occupations requiring at least a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field. Candidates from Canada or Mexico may qualify under the TN visa category. Those with extraordinary ability or multinational manager experience may explore O-1 or L-1 pathways, though these are less common for QA roles.
Which cities in Ohio have the most quality assurance engineer sponsorship jobs?
Columbus is Ohio's largest hub for QA engineering sponsorship, driven by its insurance, fintech, and defense sectors. Cleveland follows closely, with strength in medical devices, aerospace, and advanced manufacturing. Dayton has a notable concentration tied to aerospace and defense contractors near Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Cincinnati also offers opportunities through its consumer goods and healthcare manufacturing employers.
How to find quality assurance engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate is designed specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship jobs in the U.S. You can filter directly for quality assurance engineer roles in Ohio, narrowing results to employers with a verified history of sponsorship. This saves considerable time compared to manually screening job listings that don't disclose visa support. Creating a profile and setting alerts for new Ohio QA postings helps you stay ahead of openings.
Are there state-specific considerations for quality assurance engineers seeking sponsorship in Ohio?
Ohio's strong presence in automotive, aerospace, and medical device manufacturing means many QA roles fall under manufacturing or software quality standards, such as ISO or FDA regulatory frameworks. Employers in these sectors often prefer candidates with domain-specific QA certifications alongside their degree. Ohio also benefits from university pipelines through Ohio State, Case Western Reserve, and the University of Cincinnati, which some employers use to identify and sponsor international engineering talent.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored quality assurance engineer jobs in Ohio?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
