Which companies sponsor visas for software quality engineers in Oklahoma?
Oklahoma employers with a track record of sponsoring software quality engineers include American Airlines Technical Operations in Tulsa, Love's Travel Stops (which has an expanding technology division in Oklahoma City), and energy-sector technology firms such as ONE Gas and WPX Energy. Defense contractors and aerospace suppliers clustered around Tulsa also file H-1B petitions for SQE roles focused on embedded systems and safety validation.
Which visa types are most common for software quality engineers in Oklahoma?
The H-1B is the most common visa for software quality engineers in Oklahoma because the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field. Some employers also use the L-1B for intracompany transfers of specialized quality engineers, and candidates from Australia may qualify for the E-3 visa as an H-1B alternative.
Which cities in Oklahoma have the most software quality engineer sponsorship jobs?
Oklahoma City and Tulsa account for the majority of software quality engineer sponsorship opportunities in the state. Oklahoma City concentrates fintech, healthcare IT, and energy software employers, while Tulsa's aerospace and manufacturing base drives demand for SQEs with experience in regulatory compliance testing and hardware-software integration. Smaller tech presences exist in Norman, home to University of Oklahoma spinoffs and research-adjacent employers.
How to find software quality engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Oklahoma?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for roles that offer visa sponsorship, making it straightforward to search for software quality engineer positions in Oklahoma without sorting through employers who won't sponsor. You can narrow results by location and role title to surface Oklahoma City and Tulsa postings from companies that have filed H-1B petitions for SQE roles in the past.
Are there state-specific factors that affect visa sponsorship for software quality engineers in Oklahoma?
Oklahoma's prevailing wage levels for software quality engineers are generally lower than coastal tech hubs, which can make it easier for employers to meet Department of Labor wage requirements when filing an H-1B Labor Condition Application. The University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University produce a pipeline of engineering graduates, and some employers in the state have established relationships with those programs, which can influence their willingness to sponsor international candidates already familiar with local industry needs.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored software quality engineer jobs in Oklahoma?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
