Which companies in Oregon sponsor visas for accounting analysts?
Oregon's largest visa sponsors for accounting analyst roles include Nike (headquartered in Beaverton), Intel (Hillsboro), and Providence Health in Portland. Regional banks like Umpqua Bank and large public accounting firms with Oregon offices, including Deloitte and PwC, have also sponsored accounting analysts. Multinational corporations with Oregon operations are generally the most active sponsors, as they have established HR and legal infrastructure for immigration filings.
What visa types are most commonly used for accounting analyst roles in Oregon?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for accounting analyst positions in Oregon, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals under USMCA. Candidates already authorized to work, such as those on OPT or STEM OPT, are often considered by employers who prefer to avoid the H-1B lottery before eventually sponsoring full status.
Which cities in Oregon have the most accounting analyst visa sponsorship jobs?
Portland is by far the primary market, concentrating the majority of Oregon's accounting analyst sponsorship opportunities across its financial services, healthcare, and technology sectors. The broader Portland metro area, including Beaverton and Hillsboro, adds significant volume through Intel and Nike's campus operations. Salem, as the state capital, has accounting roles within government contractors and state-adjacent organizations, though sponsorship activity there is more limited than in Portland.
How to find accounting analyst visa sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate filters accounting analyst jobs in Oregon specifically to roles where employers have a history of visa sponsorship, saving you time compared to sifting through generic postings. On Migrate Mate, you can search by role and state to see current openings at Portland-area corporations, healthcare systems, and tech companies. Pairing that with the Department of Labor's LCA disclosure data can help you verify which Oregon employers have sponsored accounting analyst positions in recent years.
Are there any Oregon-specific considerations for accounting analyst candidates seeking sponsorship?
Oregon has no state income tax withholding advantage, but its concentration of Fortune 500 and multinational headquarters in the Portland metro creates a deeper sponsorship pool than many similarly sized states. Oregon State University and the University of Oregon produce accounting graduates who sometimes remain in-state on OPT, giving local employers familiarity with the sponsorship pipeline. Prevailing wage requirements for H-1B filings are set by the Department of Labor for the Portland-Vancouver-Hillsboro metro area, and employers must meet those thresholds regardless of firm size.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored accounting analyst jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
