Which companies sponsor visas for clinical assistants in Oregon?
Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU), Providence Health and Services, Legacy Health, PeaceHealth, and Kaiser Permanente Northwest are among the larger Oregon employers with established HR infrastructure for sponsoring work visas. Federally qualified health centers and specialty clinic networks operating in the Portland metro area have also filed Labor Condition Applications for clinical support roles in recent years.
Which visa types are most common for clinical assistant roles in Oregon?
The H-1B is the most commonly pursued visa for clinical assistants where the role requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field, such as clinical or health sciences. The TN visa is an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying clinical occupations. International medical graduates or those with J-1 exchange visitor backgrounds may also transition into clinical assistant positions through employer-sponsored pathways after completing their program requirements.
Which cities in Oregon have the most clinical assistant sponsorship jobs?
Portland accounts for the majority of clinical assistant visa sponsorship activity in Oregon, driven by OHSU's academic medical campus and the dense concentration of Providence, Legacy, and Kaiser facilities throughout the metro area. Salem and Eugene offer secondary opportunities through regional hospital systems. Bend has seen increased hiring as St. Charles Health System expands its outpatient services in Central Oregon.
How to find clinical assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for roles where employers have a demonstrated history of visa sponsorship, making it easier to focus your search on clinical assistant positions in Oregon rather than sorting through general job postings. You can filter by state and role type to surface openings at health systems like OHSU, Providence, and PeaceHealth that are actively recruiting internationally qualified candidates.
Are there state-specific considerations for clinical assistants seeking visa sponsorship in Oregon?
Oregon's prevailing wage requirements under the H-1B program are determined by the Department of Labor's wage data for each specific metropolitan area, so Portland-area roles will have different wage benchmarks than positions in Eugene or Bend. OHSU's status as a research university also means it qualifies as a cap-exempt H-1B employer, giving candidates sponsored through OHSU a distinct advantage since those petitions are not subject to the annual H-1B lottery.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored clinical assistant jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
