Which companies in Oregon sponsor visas for industrial engineers?
Intel is the most active sponsor in Oregon, with large-scale manufacturing operations in Hillsboro requiring industrial engineers for process optimization and yield improvement. Nike, based in Beaverton, sponsors for supply chain and operations roles. Daimler Trucks North America, Precision Castparts, and Oregon Health and Science University have also filed Labor Condition Applications for industrial engineering positions in recent years.
Which visa types are most common for industrial engineer roles in Oregon?
The H-1B is the most common visa for industrial engineers in Oregon, as the role consistently qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or a closely related field. Candidates from Canada or Mexico may qualify for TN status under the USMCA, which lists industrial engineers as an eligible profession and does not require an annual lottery.
Which cities in Oregon have the most industrial engineer sponsorship jobs?
The Portland metro area, including Hillsboro and Beaverton, accounts for the majority of industrial engineer sponsorship activity in Oregon. Intel's semiconductor campus in Hillsboro alone generates consistent demand. Eugene has some manufacturing presence, and Medford and Salem see sporadic openings tied to food processing and distribution operations, though the volume there is significantly lower than the Portland metro.
How to find industrial engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search for industrial engineer roles in Oregon without sorting through positions that won't support international candidates. The platform surfaces employers with active sponsorship histories, which is particularly useful for targeting companies like Intel or Precision Castparts before applying. Filtering by state and role together saves significant time in the search process.
Are there state-specific factors that affect industrial engineer visa sponsorship in Oregon?
Oregon's concentration of semiconductor manufacturing, driven largely by Intel's Hillsboro operations, creates above-average demand for industrial engineers with experience in process engineering, lean manufacturing, and yield analysis. Oregon State University and Portland State University produce engineering graduates who compete for the same roles, so international candidates with specialized experience in semiconductor or advanced manufacturing environments tend to stand out most with sponsoring employers in this state.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored industrial engineer jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
