Which companies in Oregon sponsor visas for project managers?
Intel is Oregon's most active sponsor for project manager roles, with large campuses in Hillsboro. Nike in Beaverton, Daimler Trucks North America in Portland, and Oregon Health and Science University also have established sponsorship track records. Smaller tech firms and semiconductor companies in the Portland metro area regularly file H-1B visa petitions for project management positions, particularly those requiring engineering or technical backgrounds.
Which visa types are most common for project manager roles in Oregon?
The H-1B is the most common visa for project managers in Oregon, particularly for roles in tech, semiconductor manufacturing, and engineering where a bachelor's degree in a specific field is a standard requirement. Project managers with Australian citizenship may qualify for the E-3 visa. Candidates with extraordinary achievement in their field may also be considered for O-1 visa sponsorship, though this is less common for PM roles.
How to find project manager visa sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate filters project manager jobs in Oregon specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you're not sifting through postings from employers who don't sponsor. Given that Portland and Hillsboro concentrate most Oregon sponsorship activity in tech and semiconductor sectors, filtering by those cities on Migrate Mate surfaces the most relevant opportunities for international candidates seeking H-1B or E-3 visa sponsorship for PM roles.
Which cities in Oregon have the most project manager sponsorship jobs?
Portland and the broader Portland metro, including Hillsboro and Beaverton, account for the large majority of sponsored project manager roles in Oregon. Hillsboro specifically is driven by Intel's significant campus presence in the semiconductor space. Eugene has some activity tied to the University of Oregon and regional healthcare. Bend is an emerging tech hub but sponsorship volume there remains smaller compared to the Portland metro.
Are there any Oregon-specific considerations for project managers seeking visa sponsorship?
Oregon's Department of Labor prevailing wage determinations apply to H-1B petitions filed for Oregon worksites, and wages in the Portland metro are benchmarked against a competitive tech market, so employers must meet wage levels consistent with that market. Oregon's concentration of semiconductor and hardware companies means technical project managers with engineering degrees tend to have stronger sponsorship prospects than those from purely generalist backgrounds.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project manager jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
