Which companies sponsor visas for project managers in Kansas?
Spirit AeroSystems in Wichita has a history of sponsoring project managers in aerospace manufacturing. Garmin, headquartered in Olathe, sponsors PM roles tied to its engineering and product divisions. Oracle Health (formerly Cerner) in Kansas City and Overland Park has sponsored project management positions in healthcare technology. Koch Industries affiliates and large construction firms operating statewide also appear in Department of Labor LCA filings for project management roles.
Which visa types are most common for project manager roles in Kansas?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for project managers in Kansas, particularly in aerospace, IT, and healthcare technology. Canadian and Mexican nationals in PM roles sometimes qualify under the TN visa, which lists management consultants as an eligible category. Australians may be eligible for the E-3 visa. Whether a specific project manager position qualifies as a specialty occupation depends on the role's degree requirements and employer documentation.
Which cities in Kansas have the most project manager sponsorship jobs?
Overland Park and the broader Kansas City metro area generate the most project manager sponsorship activity in Kansas, driven by healthcare IT, financial services, and corporate operations. Wichita is the second major hub, concentrated in aerospace and advanced manufacturing. Olathe, home to Garmin's headquarters, also produces consistent demand for project managers. Lawrence and Manhattan see limited sponsorship activity, primarily through university-affiliated or government-linked employers.
How to find project manager visa sponsorship jobs in Kansas?
Migrate Mate filters project manager jobs in Kansas specifically by visa sponsorship, saving you from manually screening hundreds of postings. The platform surfaces roles from employers with a demonstrated history of filing H-1B and other work visas for project management positions. Searching by state and role on Migrate Mate is the most direct way to identify Kansas employers currently open to sponsoring international candidates in this field.
Are there any Kansas-specific factors that affect project manager visa sponsorship?
Kansas does not have state-level visa programs, so federal rules govern all sponsorships. Employers must pay the Department of Labor's prevailing wage for project managers in the specific metropolitan area, which differs between Wichita and the Kansas City metro. The University of Kansas and Kansas State University supply engineering and business graduates who sometimes transition into sponsored PM roles locally. Aerospace employers in Wichita frequently require security clearance eligibility, which can affect international candidates significantly.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project manager jobs in Kansas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
