Which companies sponsor visas for project managers in Washington?
Microsoft, Amazon, Boeing, T-Mobile, and Expedia are among the largest sponsors of project manager roles in Washington, based on Department of Labor Labor Condition Application filings. Seattle's dense concentration of Fortune 500 technology and aerospace headquarters makes it one of the more active states for project manager sponsorship compared to most of the country.
Which visa types are most common for project manager roles in Washington?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for project managers in Washington, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as engineering, computer science, or business, which satisfies the specialty occupation requirement. L-1B and L-1A visas are also used when candidates transfer from an overseas office of a Washington-based employer like Microsoft or Amazon.
Which cities in Washington have the most project manager sponsorship jobs?
Seattle and Bellevue account for the majority of project manager sponsorship activity in Washington, largely due to the concentration of major technology employers. Redmond is significant given Microsoft's headquarters there. Kirkland has grown as a secondary tech hub. Outside the greater Seattle metro, Spokane and Tacoma have a smaller but present pool of project manager opportunities.
How to find project manager visa sponsorship jobs in Washington?
Migrate Mate filters project manager jobs in Washington specifically to roles where employers have a documented history of visa sponsorship, saving you from applying to positions that won't support international candidates. You can filter by city, industry, and visa type to focus on Seattle, Bellevue, or Redmond employers actively hiring project managers with sponsorship.
Are there any Washington-specific considerations for project managers seeking visa sponsorship?
Washington's prevailing wage requirements for H-1B project manager roles are benchmarked against the Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue metro area, which sets a high baseline due to the region's competitive tech market. The University of Washington also produces a notable pipeline of OPT-eligible candidates, meaning many Washington employers are accustomed to sponsoring international talent transitioning from student to work visa status.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project manager jobs in Washington?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
