Which companies sponsor visas for support leads in Oregon?
Nike and Adidas, both headquartered in the Portland metro area, have sponsored support lead roles for international candidates. Intel's Hillsboro campus is one of Oregon's largest private employers and has a consistent H-1B visa sponsorship history. Portland-based SaaS companies and e-commerce platforms also sponsor, though at smaller scale. Sponsorship is not guaranteed and depends heavily on the specific role and employer.
Which visa types are most common for support lead roles in Oregon?
The H-1B is the most common visa for support lead positions in Oregon, particularly for roles requiring a bachelor's degree in a technical or business-related field. The L-1A is relevant for candidates transferring from a foreign affiliate into a managerial support lead position. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for the TN visa if the role meets the applicable occupational category requirements.
Which cities in Oregon have the most support lead sponsorship jobs?
Portland accounts for the majority of support lead sponsorship activity in Oregon, driven by its concentration of tech, e-commerce, and corporate headquarters. Hillsboro, just west of Portland, is significant due to Intel's campus. Beaverton is also active given Nike's world headquarters there. Eugene and Salem have smaller markets, primarily tied to healthcare systems and regional tech employers.
How to find support lead visa sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it easier to identify support lead roles in Oregon where employers are actively open to international candidates. Rather than sorting through hundreds of unfiltered postings, you can browse roles already tagged for sponsorship. Migrate Mate covers employers across Portland, Hillsboro, and Beaverton, where most Oregon support lead openings are concentrated.
Are there state-specific considerations for support lead roles in Oregon?
Oregon follows federal prevailing wage requirements for H-1B roles, so employers must pay the DOL-determined wage for the Portland or Hillsboro metropolitan area, which tends to reflect a competitive regional tech market. Oregon has no state income tax offset that affects sponsorship decisions, but employers in Multnomah County are subject to local business taxes, which some smaller companies factor into hiring budgets for sponsored roles.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored support lead jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
