Which companies sponsor visas for tax consultants in Pennsylvania?
The most active sponsors for tax consultant roles in Pennsylvania are the Big Four accounting firms: Deloitte, PwC, KPMG, and Ernst & Young, all of which have major Philadelphia and Pittsburgh offices. Mid-size firms like Grant Thornton and BDO also have Pennsylvania footprints and sponsor international hires. Large corporations headquartered in Pennsylvania, including Comcast and Lincoln Financial, sometimes sponsor in-house tax roles as well.
Which visa types are most common for tax consultant roles in Pennsylvania?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for tax consultant positions in Pennsylvania, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance, or a related field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Some candidates with advanced credentials pursue the O-1A for extraordinary ability. Candidates already on F-1 OPT or STEM OPT extension may work for sponsoring employers before a full H-1B petition is filed.
Which cities in Pennsylvania have the most tax consultant sponsorship jobs?
Philadelphia is the primary hub, hosting the Pennsylvania offices of nearly all major accounting networks and a dense concentration of financial services and professional services employers. Pittsburgh has expanded steadily, particularly around its finance, healthcare, and technology sectors. Harrisburg sees demand driven by state government contractors and regional accounting firms. For international candidates, Philadelphia offers the broadest concentration of employers with documented H-1B sponsorship histories.
How to find tax consultant visa sponsorship jobs in Pennsylvania?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search for tax consultant roles in Pennsylvania without sifting through positions that don't support international candidates. The platform surfaces openings from accounting firms, financial services companies, and corporate tax departments across Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and other Pennsylvania markets, making it practical to identify employers actively willing to sponsor.
Are there any Pennsylvania-specific factors that affect tax consultant visa sponsorship?
Pennsylvania's concentration of major accounting firm regional headquarters means many H-1B petitions are filed by large employers already familiar with the sponsorship process, which generally supports more structured onboarding for international hires. The state's strong university pipeline, particularly from Penn, Temple, and Carnegie Mellon, means employers are accustomed to recruiting internationally trained candidates. Prevailing wage requirements apply under Department of Labor rules, and employers must certify compliance when filing a Labor Condition Application for H-1B sponsorship.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored tax consultant jobs in Pennsylvania?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
