The CNC Machinist III provides expert level machining capabilities to support advanced manufacturing operations at the Bristol site. This role independently sets up, operates, and optimizes CNC milling, turning, and grinding processes to produce complex, tight tolerance components while serving as a technical mentor and trainer for less experienced machinists. The position contributes to operational excellence by ensuring safety, quality, efficiency, and workforce capability development.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Advanced CNC Machining & Setup - 40%
- Independently set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC mills, lathes, and grinding machines
- Select tooling, establish offsets, optimize feeds and speeds, and validate programs
- Execute complex machining operations with minimal supervision

- Interpret complex blueprints, drawings, and GD&T requirements
- Perform and validate first_article inspections and advanced in_process checks
- Serve as escalation point for machining_related quality concerns

Mentorship, Training & Knowledge Transfer - 20%
- Mentor and train Machinist I and II employees on machining techniques, setups, and best practices
- Support onboarding, qualification cards, and skills progression requirements

Promote standard work, process discipline, and technical consistency

Safety, Compliance & Standard Work - 10%
- Champion EHS policies, machine guarding, and safe operating practices
- Ensure safe handling of tooling, grinding wheels, and machined components

The targeted bonus amount can be up to 5% of hourly rate based on company and individual performance measures. The total annual target cash range (Hourly Pay Rate plus Bonus, annualized (40 hrs/week * 52wks)) for this position, is $65,500 to $98,200. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
