Which consumer goods companies sponsor F-1 STEM OPT visas in South Carolina?
South Carolina's consumer goods sector includes large multinationals with documented STEM OPT hiring histories, such as Michelin North America, headquartered in Greenville, along with food and beverage manufacturers and automotive parts suppliers in the Upstate region. Companies enrolled in E-Verify are eligible to sponsor STEM OPT extensions. Reviewing DOL Labor Condition Application records can help identify which specific employers have filed for consumer goods roles in recent years.
Which cities in South Carolina have the most consumer goods F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs?
Greenville and the broader Upstate region lead in consumer goods employment due to concentrations of manufacturing, logistics, and corporate operations tied to global firms. Columbia, as the state capital and a growing business hub, also hosts consumer goods employers. Charleston is expanding in distribution and consumer product management. These three metros generate the majority of STEM-qualifying consumer goods roles in South Carolina.
What types of consumer goods roles typically qualify for F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship?
Roles that qualify must fall under a STEM-designated degree field as listed in the DHS STEM Designated Degree Program List. In consumer goods, this commonly includes supply chain analysts, data scientists, manufacturing engineers, quality assurance engineers, and operations research analysts. The role must also directly relate to the graduate's STEM degree. O*NET occupation profiles can help verify whether a specific job title carries a STEM-eligible classification.
How do I find consumer goods F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs in South Carolina?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international students and graduates seeking visa-sponsored roles. You can filter by state, visa type, and industry to surface consumer goods employers in South Carolina with verified STEM OPT sponsorship history. This is more targeted than broad job searches because Migrate Mate surfaces employers based on actual sponsorship data, helping F-1 graduates identify realistic opportunities faster without manually reviewing individual company immigration policies.
Are there any South Carolina-specific considerations for F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship in consumer goods?
South Carolina's consumer goods employers are heavily tied to manufacturing and supply chain operations, meaning many qualifying STEM roles are located at production facilities rather than corporate headquarters. Employers must be enrolled in E-Verify to sponsor STEM OPT extensions, which most large manufacturers in the state already are. Candidates should confirm that their specific work site, not just the parent company, is E-Verify enrolled, as multi-site organizations sometimes have location-level enrollment variations.
