INTRODUCTION
Progressive Leasing is a leading provider of in-store and e-commerce lease-to-own solutions. With more than 20 years in FinTech, we’ve grown from start-up to industry leader by innovating, simplifying, and valuing people. We are a subsidiary of PROG Holdings (NYSE: PRG), a FinTech holding company with three business segments: Progressive Leasing, Purchasing Power (a leading employee purchase program for consumer products and services using payroll deduction), and Four, a Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) platform.
We are currently hiring a Full Stack Engineer – Agentic Platform & MCP Integrations to help grow our company and ensure our mission is achieved!
This role is a work from home position and can be performed remotely anywhere in the continental US or in our corporate location in Utah.
Employee Value Proposition (EVP): PROG is dedicated to providing people with opportunity; opportunity for inclusive collaboration, opportunity for innovation, and opportunity for development.
WE ARE: Prog Tech embodies the modernity and transformational vision that is core to our business evolution. As passionate and hungry technical experts, we join together on the mission of progressing through technology. We believe in taking pride in our engineering, in the relentless pursuit of daily progress, and to bring others with you in your march to the future. We continuously experiment, fail fast, and constantly deliver.
YOU ARE: a Software Engineer who owns the technical foundation that makes AI agents capable of taking meaningful action across Progressive Leasing's systems and codebases. You will work across the full stack building the integration infrastructure, MCP server connections, and platform tooling that the broader AI Enablement Team and development organization depend on. You bring strong full stack development skills alongside deep experience with agentic workflow architecture, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, and the Model Context Protocol — and you understand how to build context infrastructure that makes AI coding agents produce reliable, standards-compliant output at scale. This role is a force multiplier for every engineering team we enable.
YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:
- Own the technical foundation that makes AI agents capable of taking meaningful action across Progressive Leasing’s systems and codebases — building the integration infrastructure, MCP server connections, and platform tooling that the broader AI Enablement Team depends on
- Build and maintain MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers that expose internal systems — Jira, Confluence, GitHub, ServiceNow, and others — as agent-accessible tools with well-defined interfaces, resource exposure, and governance controls
- Develop full stack platform features using TypeScript/Node.js on the backend and React on the frontend, delivering production-grade tooling that engineering teams across the organization rely on daily
- Design and build API integrations that give AI coding agents like Claude Code and GitHub Copilot secure, structured access to the systems they need to produce reliable, standards-compliant output
- Construct and maintain CI/CD pipelines and GitHub Actions that automate AI review gates, context validation, and deployment workflows as part of the FastPassAI platform
- Author and maintain structured context documentation — CLAUDE.md files, ADRs, architecture docs, and STANDARDS.md — that enables AI agents to produce high-quality, contextually aware output at scale
- Implement agentic workflow patterns including multi-step reasoning, tool use, human-in-the-loop checkpoints, and failure handling across the platform’s Sidekick agent infrastructure
- Serve as a force multiplier for every engineering team the AI Enablement Team supports — the infrastructure you build is the foundation that makes agentic development possible across the entire organization
YOU'LL BRING:
- 4+ years’ of full stack development experience with strong proficiency in TypeScript/Node.js and React, with production experience in both backend and frontend systems
- Hands-on experience building or consuming MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers — including tool definition, resource exposure, and agent-to-system connectivity
- Practical experience with Claude Code and GitHub Copilot as development tools, including context file authoring and agentic workflow configuration
- Experience designing and building API integrations that expose internal systems — Jira, Confluence, GitHub, ServiceNow, or similar — as agent-accessible tools
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline construction and GitHub Actions for automating review gates, context validation, and deployment workflows
- Understanding of agentic workflow patterns — multi-step reasoning, tool use, human-in-the-loop checkpoints, and failure handling
- Experience writing and maintaining structured context documentation that enables AI coding tools to produce standards-compliant output
- Comfort with infrastructure fundamentals — REST API design, authentication patterns, environment management, and basic cloud services (AWS or Azure)
- Demonstrated ability to self-motivate, self-direct, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment with evolving requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- AI‑enabled tools are already part of how work gets done across our organization, and their use will continue to expand over time. We value people who are curious, adaptable, and open to learning as roles and workflows evolve.
WE OFFER:
- Competitive Compensation
- Full Health Benefits; Medical/Dental/Vision/Life Insurance + Paid Parental Leave
- Company Matched 401k
- Paid Time Off + Paid Holidays + Paid Volunteer Hours
- Employee Resource Groups (Black Inclusion Group, Women in Leadership, PRIDE, Adelante)
- Employee Stock Purchase Program
- Tuition Reimbursement
- Charitable Gift Matching
- Job required equipment and services

Which companies sponsor visas for full stack engineers in Tennessee?
Nashville-based employers like HCA Healthcare, Asurion, and Dollar General have sponsored full stack engineers through H-1B visa and other work visa categories. Healthcare IT firms and fintech startups concentrated in the Nashville area also appear in Department of Labor disclosure data as regular sponsors. Knoxville's tech community, including companies tied to Oak Ridge National Laboratory's research ecosystem, adds further sponsorship activity across the state.
Which visa types are most common for full stack engineer roles in Tennessee?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for full stack engineers in Tennessee, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field. Australian citizens may also use the E-3 visa. Candidates already holding L-1 visa intracompany transfer status or O-1 visa extraordinary ability visas occasionally fill these roles, though H-1B remains the dominant pathway.
Which cities in Tennessee have the most full stack engineer sponsorship jobs?
Nashville consistently leads for full stack engineer sponsorship activity, driven by its concentration of healthcare technology, finance, and enterprise software companies. Knoxville is a secondary hub, with university-adjacent tech firms and government contractor employers near Oak Ridge. Memphis has a smaller but present tech hiring base, particularly in logistics and supply chain software tied to its freight and distribution industry.
How to find full stack engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Tennessee?
Migrate Mate is a job board built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship in the U.S. You can filter directly for full stack engineer roles in Tennessee to see positions from employers with active sponsorship history. This saves time compared to manually screening general job listings for sponsorship eligibility, which is rarely stated clearly upfront.
Are there any Tennessee-specific considerations for full stack engineers pursuing visa sponsorship?
Tennessee has no state income tax on wages, which affects the total compensation picture but does not change federal prevailing wage requirements that employers must meet when sponsoring H-1B workers. Nashville's healthcare IT concentration means many full stack roles involve HIPAA-regulated environments, which can influence the technical stack and clearance requirements. The University of Tennessee and Vanderbilt University also generate local talent pipelines that some employers draw on before recruiting internationally.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored full stack engineer jobs in Tennessee?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
