HR WD Sustainment
Job Summary:
The Workday Functional Configuration Consultant serves on the HR Sustainment team, acting as a trusted internal consultant to business stakeholders. Requests may originate from both business partners and IT.
The consultant plays a key role in Workday service updates and bi-annual releases, proactively reviewing new functionality to assess impacts to the Absence module and related processes. - Propose solutions to problems and consider timeliness, effectiveness, and practicality in addressing customer needs.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation on computer-based information systems; compile documentation for design changes and creation criteria.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and user issues, while interacting with the software vendor.
- Coordinate the testing and implementation of various patch upgrades, gather data, perform analysis of information, develop conclusions, and communicate recommendations to all levels within the organization.

Which companies sponsor visas for HR consultants in Tennessee?
Tennessee's largest visa-sponsoring employers for HR consultant roles include HCA Healthcare and Community Health Systems in Nashville, FedEx and International Paper in Memphis, and Eastman Chemical in Kingsport. These organizations maintain established HR departments with documented sponsorship histories for specialty occupation roles. Consulting firms with Tennessee offices, including Deloitte and Accenture, have also filed LCAs for HR consultant positions in the state.
Which visa types are most common for HR consultant roles in Tennessee?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for HR consultants in Tennessee, provided the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or a related field. Candidates with advanced credentials or recognized expertise may qualify for the O-1A. Canadians and Mexicans may pursue TN status under the USMCA, as HR professionals are an explicitly listed TN occupation category.
Which cities in Tennessee have the most HR consultant sponsorship jobs?
Nashville accounts for the largest share of HR consultant sponsorship activity in Tennessee, driven by its concentration of healthcare systems, financial services firms, and corporate headquarters. Memphis sees consistent demand tied to its logistics, distribution, and healthcare sectors. Knoxville and Chattanooga offer smaller but growing markets, particularly within manufacturing, energy, and regional consulting firms serving East Tennessee.
How to find hr consultant visa sponsorship jobs in Tennessee?
Migrate Mate filters HR consultant roles specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it more efficient than broad general searches. You can browse Tennessee-specific listings to identify which employers are actively sponsoring at a given time. Because sponsorship availability changes frequently, checking Migrate Mate regularly for HR consultant openings in Nashville, Memphis, and Knoxville gives you the most current picture of what is actually available.
Are there state-specific considerations for HR consultant visa sponsorship in Tennessee?
Tennessee has no state income tax on wages, which affects total compensation comparisons but does not change federal prevailing wage requirements. Employers sponsoring H-1B workers must still file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL certifying that the offered wage meets or exceeds the prevailing wage for the HR consultant role in that specific metropolitan area. Nashville and Memphis are classified separately for prevailing wage purposes, so the required wage floor differs between these markets.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored hr consultant jobs in Tennessee?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
