Which companies sponsor visas for construction superintendents in Texas?
Large general contractors and engineering firms are the most active sponsors for construction superintendent roles in Texas. Companies like Turner Construction, Fluor Corporation, Zachry Group, Hensel Phelps, and Kiewit have histories of sponsoring skilled construction management professionals. Sponsorship is more common at firms managing large-scale commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects where specialized superintendent experience is genuinely difficult to source locally.
Which visa types are most common for construction superintendent roles in Texas?
The H-1B is the most common nonimmigrant visa for construction superintendents, provided the role requires at minimum a bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field. The EB-3 employment-based immigrant visa is a common pathway for permanent residence sponsorship. Some multinational firms also use the L-1A for superintendents transferring into managerial roles from an overseas office within the same company.
Which cities in Texas have the most construction superintendent sponsorship jobs?
Houston leads in volume, driven by the energy sector, petrochemical plant construction, and large commercial development. Dallas-Fort Worth follows closely, with strong demand across commercial real estate, data centers, and infrastructure projects. Austin's sustained tech-sector growth has fueled significant construction activity, and San Antonio sees steady public and industrial builds. These four metros account for the large majority of construction superintendent openings with sponsorship potential in Texas.
How to find construction superintendent visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters construction superintendent roles in Texas by visa sponsorship eligibility, saving you from manually screening hundreds of postings. Because sponsorship for superintendent roles depends heavily on employer size and project type, focusing on large general contractors and engineering firms active in Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, and Austin gives you the best starting point. Migrate Mate surfaces exactly those opportunities in one place.
Are there any Texas-specific considerations for construction superintendent visa sponsorship?
Texas follows federal prevailing wage rules under the Department of Labor's guidelines, so H-1B sponsors must pay the prevailing wage for the specific construction superintendent role in the relevant metro area. Texas has no state income tax, which affects how employers frame total compensation. The state's ongoing infrastructure investment, including projects tied to the Texas Department of Transportation and energy sector expansions, means sponsoring employers are more concentrated in industrial and heavy civil construction.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored construction superintendent jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
