Which companies sponsor visas for EHS managers in Texas?
Large industrial and energy employers are the most consistent visa sponsors for EHS managers in Texas. Companies such as ExxonMobil, LyondellBasell, Chevron Phillips Chemical, and Dow Chemical have active sponsorship histories in the Houston area. Defense contractors like Lockheed Martin and Raytheon sponsor EHS roles in the Dallas-Fort Worth corridor. Sponsorship is more common at the enterprise level than at smaller regional safety firms.
Which visa types are most common for EHS manager roles in Texas?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for EHS managers in Texas, provided the role requires a bachelor's degree or higher in environmental science, occupational health, engineering, or a related field. Some candidates with advanced credentials qualify for O-1 visas. TN status is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying safety and engineering subspecialties. EB-2 and EB-3 green card sponsorship is also pursued by larger industrial employers.
Which cities in Texas have the most EHS manager sponsorship jobs?
Houston leads by a significant margin, anchored by the concentration of oil and gas, petrochemical, and industrial manufacturing employers along the Gulf Coast. Dallas-Fort Worth is the second-largest market, with EHS demand spread across aerospace, logistics, and semiconductor manufacturing. San Antonio has a growing footprint through defense and healthcare operations. Austin has emerging opportunities tied to semiconductor fabs and tech hardware facilities.
How to find ehs manager visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate filters EHS manager job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can browse Texas-based openings without manually screening each posting. The platform surfaces roles from employers who have documented sponsorship histories, which is particularly useful in Texas where EHS hiring is concentrated in energy and manufacturing. Setting location filters to Houston, Dallas, or San Antonio will return the most relevant results for this role.
Are there any Texas-specific considerations for EHS managers seeking visa sponsorship?
Texas's dominant industries, specifically oil and gas, petrochemicals, and heavy manufacturing, require EHS managers to meet OSHA Process Safety Management standards and often hold certifications such as CSP or CIH. Employers in these sectors typically require industry-specific experience before sponsoring, which means candidates coming from unrelated industries may face additional hurdles. Proximity to the Gulf Coast also means familiarity with environmental compliance under EPA and Texas Commission on Environmental Quality regulations is commonly expected.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored ehs manager jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
