ORGANIZATION SUMMARY
World Relief is a global Christian humanitarian organization whose mission is to boldly engage the world’s greatest crises in partnership with the church. The organization was founded in the aftermath of World War II to respond to the urgent humanitarian needs of war-torn Europe. Since then, for 80 years, across 100 countries, World Relief has partnered with local churches and communities to build a world where families thrive and communities flourish.
Today, organizational programming focuses on humanitarian and disaster response, community strengthening and resilience, and refugee & immigrant services and advocacy.
Position Summary
World Relief seeks a....
Responsibilities
- Conduct interviews with relevant parties to gather information, quotes and releases;
- Write for a variety of platforms (newsletter, social media, website and marketing materials);
- Take photos and videos for use in all platforms;
- Social Media and Email Marketing;
- Help to grow WR Texas’s Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram audiences;
- Attend in-person WR events and other activities to gather content;
- Ideation;
- Brainstorm ideas for growing and engaging social media audiences;
- Pursue new story leads;
- Administration;
- Complete research on communication, marketing and other topics related to WR Texas’ work;
- Assist with keeping digital marketing and communication materials and programs organized;
- Provide administrative support to the department;
- Complete required readings and journal entries;
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- Committed to the mission, vision and values of World Relief;
- Strong writing and inter-personal communication skills;
- Photography/videography skills;
- Cross-cultural experience, sensitivity and/or interest;
- Strong personal initiative; ability to work independently;
- Organized; attention to detail.
PREFERRED
- No degree required but experience in photography/videography and writing strongly preferred.
- Car (or access to transportation) and valid driver’s license.
While some internships are unpaid, the program is competitive and you are encouraged to approach it in the same way you would a job. Applicants are required to submit a cover letter, resume, application, and to pass a Criminal Background Check. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
