Search New Business Development Jobs in TexasNew Business Development Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies sponsor visas for new business development roles in Texas?
Large multinationals with significant Texas operations are the most consistent sponsors for new business development roles. These include ExxonMobil and Chevron Phillips Chemical in Houston, AT&T and Tenet Healthcare in Dallas, and Dell Technologies and Oracle in Austin. Enterprise software firms, energy companies, and financial services organizations headquartered in Texas tend to have established HR processes for H-1B visa and other work visa sponsorship.
Which visa types are most common for new business development roles in Texas?
The H-1B is the most common visa for new business development professionals in Texas, provided the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business, marketing, or finance. L-1B visas apply when a candidate is transferring from a foreign affiliate of a Texas-based employer. Candidates from Australia may qualify for the E-3 visa, and Canadian and Mexican nationals may explore TN visa status under USMCA.
Which cities in Texas have the most new business development sponsorship jobs?
Dallas-Fort Worth leads in volume, driven by its dense concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters and corporate sales operations. Houston follows closely, particularly for new business development roles tied to energy, logistics, and international trade. Austin has grown significantly as a technology hub, with companies like Apple, Google, and Tesla establishing operations there. San Antonio also offers opportunities, especially in cybersecurity and financial services sectors.
How to find new business development visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship jobs, including new business development roles in Texas. You can filter by state and role type to see employers with active sponsorship histories. Because new business development positions vary widely by industry, searching across sectors like technology, energy, and professional services on Migrate Mate gives you the broadest view of which Texas employers are actively sponsoring candidates.
Are there any Texas-specific considerations for new business development visa sponsorship?
Texas has no state income tax, which affects prevailing wage comparisons used in Labor Condition Applications. Employers must still meet DOL prevailing wage requirements based on the specific metropolitan area, so Dallas, Houston, and Austin each have distinct wage benchmarks. Texas's concentration of energy, technology, and healthcare industries also shapes which new business development specializations see the highest sponsorship activity, with client-facing and partnership roles in these sectors being particularly common.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored new business development jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
