Which companies sponsor visas for physical therapist assistants in Texas?
Large hospital systems and rehabilitation networks in Texas with a history of sponsoring physical therapist assistants include Baylor Scott & White Health, HCA Healthcare, CHRISTUS Health, and Select Medical. Long-term care and skilled nursing facility operators such as Kindred Healthcare and Genesis Healthcare also sponsor PTAs in Texas. Sponsorship availability varies by facility, staffing needs, and the candidate's visa category, so confirming directly with each employer is important.
Which visa types are most common for physical therapist assistant roles in Texas?
The H-1B visa is the most frequently used category for physical therapist assistants in Texas, as the role generally qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least an associate degree in PTA. The EB-3 employment-based green card is also common for permanent sponsorship. Some employers use the TN visa for Canadian or Mexican nationals with qualifying PTA credentials. Each category has distinct employer obligations, timelines, and eligibility requirements.
Which cities in Texas have the most physical therapist assistant sponsorship jobs?
Houston and Dallas-Fort Worth have the highest concentration of physical therapist assistant sponsorship opportunities in Texas, supported by large hospital systems, outpatient clinics, and long-term care facilities. San Antonio and Austin are also significant hiring markets, driven by growing populations and expanding healthcare infrastructure. Smaller metro areas like El Paso and Lubbock have active rehab hiring as well, particularly within regional hospital networks and VA facilities.
How to find physical therapist assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate is a job board built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship, making it straightforward to filter for physical therapist assistant roles in Texas. Rather than sorting through general postings, Migrate Mate surfaces employers that have sponsored visas before, which saves significant time in your search. Filtering by state and role gives you a targeted list of Texas PTA positions where sponsorship is a realistic part of the conversation with employers.
Are there state-specific considerations for physical therapist assistants seeking sponsorship in Texas?
Texas requires PTAs to hold a state license issued by the Texas State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners before practicing, and employers typically require licensure as a condition of hire. International candidates must ensure their PTA credentials are evaluated and recognized, which can affect sponsorship timelines. Texas does not impose additional state-level visa requirements, but the high volume of healthcare hiring across its metro areas means prevailing wage determinations for LCA filings are tied to specific metropolitan statistical areas within the state.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored physical therapist assistant jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
