Which companies sponsor visas for product leads in Texas?
Several large technology and enterprise companies in Texas have established histories of sponsoring work visas for product lead roles. Dell Technologies, Oracle, Samsung Austin Semiconductor, and AT&T are among the most active sponsors. Austin's growing startup ecosystem, along with Dallas-based firms in fintech and SaaS, also regularly sponsor experienced product leaders through H-1B visa and other work visa categories.
Which visa types are most common for product lead roles in Texas?
The H-1B visa is the most common path for product leads in Texas, as the role generally qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a relevant bachelor's degree or higher. Candidates already in the U.S. on OPT or STEM OPT may find employers willing to sponsor an H-1B petition. Those with extraordinary ability in product management may also explore the O-1A. Australian citizens can consider the E-3 visa.

Dallas follows closely, particularly in fintech, telecommunications, and enterprise software. Houston contributes opportunities in energy technology and healthcare technology sectors, where product leadership roles with sponsorship are increasingly common.
Are there any Texas-specific considerations for product leads seeking visa sponsorship?
Texas has no state income tax, which influences how employers structure compensation benchmarks, but the Department of Labor's prevailing wage requirements for H-1B petitions still apply based on the job location. Austin's competitive hiring market means employers are generally more familiar with sponsorship processes. Texas universities including UT Austin and Texas A&M also produce strong local talent pipelines, so international candidates benefit from emphasizing specialized experience that distinguishes them.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored product lead jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
