Which companies sponsor visas for psychiatric nurses in Texas?
Large health systems are the most consistent sponsors for psychiatric nurses in Texas. UT Health, Texas Health Resources, HCA Houston Healthcare, and Baylor Scott and White Health have sponsored international nursing staff across multiple facilities. State-operated psychiatric hospitals under Texas Health and Human Services also hire at volume. Staffing agencies contracted with these networks sometimes facilitate sponsorship as well, though direct employer sponsorship is more common for permanent roles.
Which visa types are most common for psychiatric nurse roles in Texas?
The H-1B and EB-3 are the most common pathways for psychiatric nurses in Texas. Registered nurses typically qualify under EB-3 for permanent residence, and some employers file concurrent H-1B petitions to cover the wait. Nurses from countries with a treaty relationship, such as Mexico, may also explore TN visa eligibility if the psychiatric nurse role meets the qualifying criteria under that category.
Which cities in Texas have the most psychiatric nurse sponsorship jobs?
Houston leads in volume, driven by the Texas Medical Center and large private systems including Menninger and HCA facilities. Dallas and Fort Worth follow closely, with major hospital networks concentrated across the metroplex. San Antonio has significant activity tied to military-affiliated and VA healthcare facilities. Austin's healthcare sector has expanded steadily, and the city is increasingly represented among psychiatric nursing postings from growing regional health systems.
How to find psychiatric nurse visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for visa sponsorship, making it practical to search psychiatric nurse roles in Texas without sifting through postings that don't support international candidates. You can narrow results by city, visa type, and employer. Because sponsorship availability changes frequently, checking Migrate Mate regularly gives you an up-to-date view of which Texas health systems are actively hiring internationally sponsored psychiatric nurses.
Are there any state-specific considerations for psychiatric nurses seeking sponsorship in Texas?
Texas requires psychiatric nurses to hold a valid Texas Board of Nursing license, and international applicants must have their credentials evaluated before licensure. The Texas Medical Center in Houston functions as one of the largest medical complexes in the world, creating a concentrated hiring pipeline. University systems including UT Southwestern and Texas A and M Health also feed sponsored positions. Prevailing wage determinations for psychiatric nurse roles vary by metropolitan area, so employer-filed Labor Condition Applications reflect local market rates.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored psychiatric nurse jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
