Which companies sponsor visas for real estate roles in Texas?
Large commercial real estate firms with established Texas offices are the most consistent sponsors. CBRE, JLL, Cushman & Wakefield, and Newmark all operate major hubs in Dallas and Houston and have documented H-1B visa sponsorship histories. Real estate investment trusts and private equity firms with Texas headquarters, such as those focused on industrial and multifamily assets, also sponsor for analytical and asset management roles.
Which visa types are most common for real estate roles in Texas?
The H-1B is the most common visa for real estate roles that qualify as specialty occupations, including real estate analysts, valuation specialists, and asset managers where a degree in finance, economics, or real estate is typically required. The L-1 visa applies to employees transferring within multinational firms like CBRE or JLL. O-1 visas are rare but possible for individuals with exceptional credentials in real estate investment or development.
Which cities in Texas have the most real estate visa sponsorship jobs?
Dallas-Fort Worth leads the state for real estate sponsorship activity, driven by its concentration of corporate headquarters and commercial real estate firms. Houston follows closely, particularly for roles tied to industrial real estate and energy-sector property portfolios. Austin has seen growing demand for real estate professionals as the city's tech-driven development boom has attracted national firms to establish or expand local teams.
How to find real estate visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters real estate jobs in Texas by visa sponsorship status, saving you from sorting through listings that won't support your work authorization. You can browse roles across commercial brokerage, property management, and real estate finance from employers with verified sponsorship histories in Dallas, Houston, and Austin.
Are there any Texas-specific considerations for real estate visa sponsorship?
Texas has no state income tax, which affects how employers structure compensation packages but does not change federal visa requirements. Real estate roles in Texas often require state-specific licensing, such as a Texas real estate license issued by the Texas Real Estate Commission, which applicants should factor into their timelines. Prevailing wage requirements for H-1B petitions are determined by the Department of Labor based on the specific metropolitan area, so Dallas, Houston, and Austin each have separate wage determinations.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored real estate jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
