Which companies in Utah sponsor visas for data analytics engineers?
Adobe's Lehi campus, Qualtrics, and health tech companies like Recursion Pharmaceuticals are among the Utah employers with documented H-1B visa sponsorship histories for data and analytics roles. Fintech firms operating in Salt Lake City's growing financial services sector also appear in Department of Labor LCA filings for data analytics engineer positions. Sponsorship activity tends to concentrate in companies with dedicated data infrastructure teams rather than smaller startups.
What visa types are most commonly used for data analytics engineer roles in Utah?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for data analytics engineers in Utah, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, or a related field. Some employers also use the O-1A for candidates with exceptional research or publication records. Candidates already in the U.S. on F-1 OPT, including STEM OPT extensions, are frequently hired before employers initiate H-1B sponsorship.
Which cities in Utah have the most data analytics engineer visa sponsorship jobs?
Salt Lake City accounts for the largest share of data analytics engineer sponsorship activity in Utah, followed by Provo and Lehi in Utah County, an area sometimes called Silicon Slopes. This corridor hosts a high concentration of enterprise software, fintech, and health tech employers. Ogden and St. George have smaller but emerging tech presences, though sponsorship opportunities there are considerably less common for specialized data engineering roles.
How to find data analytics engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for visa sponsorship eligibility, making it straightforward to search for data analytics engineer roles in Utah without sorting through positions that don't support international candidates. You can filter by state and role type to surface relevant openings from Utah employers with active sponsorship histories. This is more efficient than broad job searches that don't surface sponsorship status upfront.
Are there any Utah-specific factors data analytics engineers should know about for visa sponsorship?
Utah's Silicon Slopes corridor has produced a strong local university pipeline through the University of Utah and Brigham Young University, which means employers often have established international hiring processes and some familiarity with H-1B sponsorship for technical roles. The state's prevailing wage requirements for LCA filings are set by the Department of Labor based on the Salt Lake City or Provo metropolitan areas, which generally reflect compensation levels typical for mid-to-large tech employers in those markets.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored data analytics engineer jobs in Utah?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
