Which companies sponsor visas for physical therapists in Utah?
The largest sponsors for physical therapists in Utah are Intermountain Health, University of Utah Health, and Select Physical Therapy, which operate clinics and hospital-based PT departments across the state. Smaller outpatient groups and long-term care facilities also file sponsorships, though less consistently. Checking an employer's history of H-1B visa or EB-3 filings through Department of Labor disclosure data can help identify active sponsors.
Which visa types are most common for physical therapist roles in Utah?
Physical therapists in Utah most commonly obtain sponsorship through the H-1B visa, which requires the employer to classify PT as a specialty occupation requiring a graduate degree. The EB-3 immigrant visa is also widely used, particularly for internationally trained PTs navigating the PERM labor certification process. Some employers use the TN visa for Canadian and Mexican nationals who hold qualifying PT credentials.
Which cities in Utah have the most physical therapist sponsorship jobs?
Salt Lake City accounts for the largest share of sponsored PT positions in Utah, driven by Intermountain Health's flagship hospitals and University of Utah Health's academic medical system. Provo and Orem have growing demand tied to the Utah Valley region's population growth. St. George is an emerging market with expanding outpatient and sports rehab clinics serving southwestern Utah's rapidly growing communities.
How to find physical therapist visa sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for visa sponsorship, making it straightforward to search physical therapist roles in Utah without sorting through positions that don't support work visa candidates. You can filter by location and role to surface openings at health systems and outpatient clinics across Salt Lake City, Provo, and beyond. Creating a profile also helps match you with employers who have a documented sponsorship history for PT positions.
Are there any Utah-specific considerations for physical therapists seeking visa sponsorship?
Utah requires physical therapists to hold a valid state license through the Utah Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing before practicing, and international applicants must have their foreign credentials evaluated for equivalency. University of Utah's PT program and Intermountain Health's residency pipelines occasionally create pathways for internationally trained clinicians. Utah's strong outdoor recreation economy also means orthopedic and sports rehab specializations tend to be in particularly high demand across the state.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored physical therapist jobs in Utah?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
