Which companies in Utah sponsor visas for project managers?
Several large employers in Utah have a track record of sponsoring project managers for work visas. Adobe and Qualtrics in the Silicon Slopes corridor regularly hire technical and product-focused project managers. Goldman Sachs has a significant Salt Lake City technology hub that sponsors mid-to-senior level roles. Intermountain Health and the University of Utah also sponsor project managers, particularly for healthcare IT and research operations portfolios.
Which visa types are most common for project manager roles in Utah?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa category for project managers in Utah, particularly for roles requiring a relevant bachelor's degree such as computer science, engineering, or business. Project management typically qualifies as a specialty occupation when the employer can demonstrate the role requires at minimum a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Australian citizens may also pursue the E-3 visa, which has no lottery and is available year-round.
Which cities in Utah have the most project manager sponsorship jobs?
Salt Lake City accounts for the large majority of project manager sponsorship activity in Utah, driven by its concentration of technology, finance, and healthcare employers. Lehi and Draper, both part of the Silicon Slopes corridor, are also strong markets due to the density of software and SaaS companies headquartered there. Provo sees project manager hiring through companies tied to Brigham Young University's technology ecosystem.
How to find project manager visa sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Migrate Mate is a job board built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship in the U.S., and you can filter directly for project manager roles in Utah. This removes the need to manually verify whether employers sponsor visas. Given that Silicon Slopes employers vary widely in their sponsorship willingness, using a platform like Migrate Mate that pre-filters for sponsoring employers saves significant time during your search.
Are there state-specific factors that affect project manager visa sponsorship in Utah?
Utah's Silicon Slopes has produced a high concentration of technology employers who are familiar with H-1B sponsorship, making it a more accessible market for international project managers than many other states. Employers filing an H-1B for a project manager must meet DOL prevailing wage requirements for that occupation and county. BYU and the University of Utah generate a consistent pipeline of candidates, so competition for sponsored roles can be meaningful at the entry-to-mid level.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project manager jobs in Utah?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
