Convert complex technical concepts into clear product strategies, requirements, and recommendations.
Champion responsible AI: Partner with legal, compliance, information security, model risk, privacy, and other governance teams to ensure AI products are developed and operated safely, securely, transparently, and in accordance with Fannie Mae’s AI governance standards.
Drive adoption and change: Support organizational change management by developing communications, training resources, implementation plans, and feedback mechanisms. Serve as a visible champion for AI products and help users understand how to apply them responsibly and effectively.
Develop business cases: Create compelling, data-informed business cases that define expected benefits, costs, risks, success measures, and investment requirements. Use these business cases to support roadmap decisions and funding approvals.

Which companies sponsor visas for product management leads in Washington DC?
Federal contractors and defense technology firms are among the most active sponsors in DC. Companies like Booz Allen Hamilton, Leidos, SAIC, Palantir, and Accenture Federal Services have sponsored product management roles in the past. Government-adjacent software firms and cybersecurity companies also hire senior product talent and have established immigration support through dedicated HR and legal teams. Sponsorship is not guaranteed and varies by company and role.
Which visa types are most common for product management lead roles in Washington DC?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for product management leads in DC, given the role's degree requirements and specialty occupation classification. Candidates with extraordinary achievement may qualify for an O-1A. Those already on an H-1B with I-140 approval can use H-1B extensions beyond six years. Some employers with global operations also support L-1A transfers for product leaders moving from an affiliated overseas office.
How to find product management lead visa sponsorship jobs in Washington DC?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it easier to identify product management lead roles in Washington DC without manually screening each posting. Because DC's market skews heavily toward government contractors and defense tech, searching by those industry segments on Migrate Mate helps narrow results to employers with active sponsorship programs for senior product roles.
Which areas in Washington DC have the most product management lead sponsorship jobs?
Most sponsoring employers are headquartered in or near DC proper, with significant concentrations in the broader metro area including Bethesda and McLean in Maryland, and Reston and Arlington in Virginia. The DC-Arlington-Alexandria metro corridor is where federal contractors and tech firms cluster, making it the primary geography for product management lead roles with visa sponsorship attached.
Are there role-specific or DC-specific considerations for product management leads seeking visa sponsorship?
Many DC-area product management lead roles require or prefer U.S. security clearance eligibility, which can complicate or effectively exclude candidates on certain nonimmigrant visa statuses. Employers must also comply with prevailing wage requirements under the H-1B program, and DC's wage determinations for senior product roles tend to reflect the high cost of living in the metro area. Consulting an immigration attorney before applying to clearance-sensitive roles is advisable.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored product management lead jobs in Washington DC?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
