- Monitor and interpret statutes, regulations, guidance, and budget actions, translating policy developments into clear analytical outputs and summaries for internal stakeholders.
- Provide analytical support on select federal policy analytics initiatives, as needed, to ensure continuity, coverage, and alignment across the U.S. policy analytics portfolio.
- Assess interactions between state policy initiatives and federal frameworks (e.g., Medicaid, 340B, IRA) to understand combined or downstream impacts on reimbursement.
- Support policy research evidence generation by producing analyses, data tables, and visualizations that underpin state policy positions, evidence packages, and advocacy materials.
- Contribute analytics that support external policy engagement efforts, including materials used in engagement with policymakers, agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Prepare well-structured, executive ready slides and written materials that clearly communicate state policy impacts, assumptions, limitations, and tradeoffs.
- Collaborate closely with cross functional partners, including Global Health Systems Analytics, Global Pricing, Global Market Access (MAx), Legal, HEOR, Finance, and Business Insights & Technology (BIT), to ensure alignment and consistency of state policy analytics.
- Track emerging policy trends and identify potential risks and opportunities, escalating insights to the Senior Director as appropriate.
- Support team operations and knowledge building by documenting methodologies, assumptions, and analytical approaches related to state policy analysis.
- Leverage digital tools and AI enabled analytics, where appropriate, to improve efficiency, consistency, and analytical rigor.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree preferred (e.g., MPH, MPP, MBA, PhD, PharmD, or equivalent).
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in U.S. health policy, policy analytics, government pricing, reimbursement analysis, or related roles, with an emphasis on state or federal policy.

Which companies sponsor visas for professional services consultants in Washington DC?
Large federal contractors and management consultancies are the most consistent visa sponsors for professional services consultants in DC. Firms like Booz Allen Hamilton, Deloitte, Accenture Federal Services, KPMG, and Leidos have established immigration programs and regularly file H-1B petitions. Global strategy firms and international development organizations headquartered in the DC area also sponsor regularly, particularly for consultants with specialized technical or policy expertise.
Which visa types are most common for professional services consultant roles in Washington DC?
The H-1B is the most common visa for professional services consultants in DC, requiring the role to qualify as a specialty occupation tied to a specific degree field. L-1B visas apply to consultants transferring from an overseas office of the same firm. O-1 visas are an option for those with demonstrated exceptional expertise. Some positions at international organizations may also qualify for G or A visa classifications.
Which cities in Washington DC have the most professional services consultant sponsorship jobs?
Washington DC is a city-state, so the market is concentrated within the District itself, particularly in areas like Downtown, Foggy Bottom, and Capitol Hill where major consultancies and federal agencies are based. However, the broader metro area extends into Northern Virginia (Arlington, McLean, Tysons Corner) and suburban Maryland, where many firms maintain large offices and actively hire consultants who require visa sponsorship.
How to find professional services consultant visa sponsorship jobs in Washington DC?
Migrate Mate is a dedicated job board for international professionals seeking visa sponsorship, with filters specific to professional services consultant roles in Washington DC. You can browse verified sponsorship-eligible positions from federal contractors, consulting firms, and advisory organizations in the DC metro area. Focusing your search on established firms with active H-1B filing histories gives you the most reliable pool of opportunities.
Are there any DC-specific considerations for professional services consultants seeking visa sponsorship?
DC's consulting market is heavily oriented toward federal clients, which introduces security clearance requirements at many firms. Visa holders can obtain certain clearance levels, but the process is more complex and not guaranteed. Consultants without clearance eligibility may find opportunities more limited at defense-focused contractors. University programs at Georgetown, GWU, and American University serve as pipelines into DC consulting roles and are worth considering for networking.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored professional services consultant jobs in Washington DC?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
