About Anthropic
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About The Role
The Creative Studio is Anthropic’s in-house creative team responsible for the brand expression across Anthropic and Claude. We care about craft, making things by hand and using AI when it makes sense. The team is growing, and we’re looking for people who do excellent work to join us. The stakes are real, and there’s room to shape what all this becomes. We're looking for a Design Engineer to join our Brand Web team, working at the intersection of design and development to build and maintain Anthropic's web properties. In this role, you'll contribute to shipping high-quality web experiences across anthropic.com and claude.com — from interactive marketing pages and data visualizations to internal tooling that keeps our content operations running smoothly. You'll work closely with designers, engineers, and brand and content teams to translate design intent into polished, production-ready code. Rapid prototyping is a core part of how we work here, and you'll be expected to move fast.
Responsibilities
- Own implementation of design system components and page templates across our web properties, with a focus on experiences that go beyond static content — interactive pages, data visualizations, and tools that communicate complex information clearly
- Work within our headless CMS architecture, helping maintain and improve content modeling, structured data workflows, and the publishing experience
- Collaborate closely with designers to bridge the gap between static design and living, interactive web experiences
- Contribute to internal tools that help teams author, manage, and publish content at scale
- Participate in migrations and site architecture projects, taking on defined scopes within larger efforts led by senior team members
- Move quickly from concept to working prototype, iterating in close collaboration with the team
- Support tooling and workflow improvements that help the broader team ship faster, and contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing
You May Be a Good Fit If You
- Have solid experience with modern frontend frameworks, particularly Next.js or similar React-based tooling, and are comfortable working within a design system
- Understand CSS at a level that lets you implement complex layouts, animations, and interactive experiences with precision
- Have hands-on experience with headless CMS platforms and can navigate content modeling, structured data workflows, and the operational side of keeping a large site running
- Have built internal tools or contributed to workflows that improve how teams work day-to-day, and enjoy that kind of problem-solving
- Can prototype quickly and iterate confidently, moving from rough idea to working proof-of-concept without getting stuck
- Communicate clearly with both designers and engineers, and care about shipping work that's both technically sound and visually refined
- Have a track record of contributing to production web properties at a mid-level scope, and are motivated to grow into owning larger, more complex projects
Strong Candidates May Also Have
- Experience with AI-assisted development workflows
- Interest in generative or programmatic design
- Familiarity with localization or internationalization systems
The annual compensation range for this role is listed below. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role.
Annual Salary
$190,000—$260,000 USD
Logistics
Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
Required field of study: A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience
Minimum years of experience: Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position
Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices.
Visa sponsorship: We do sponsor visas! However, we aren't able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate. But if we make you an offer, we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa, and we retain an immigration lawyer to help with this.
We encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification. Not all strong candidates will meet every single qualification as listed. Research shows that people who identify as being from underrepresented groups are more prone to experiencing imposter syndrome and doubting the strength of their candidacy, so we urge you not to exclude yourself prematurely and to submit an application if you're interested in this work. We think AI systems like the ones we're building have enormous social and ethical implications. We think this makes representation even more important, and we strive to include a range of diverse perspectives on our team.
Your safety matters to us.

How We're Different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills. The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.
Come work with us!
Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.

Which companies sponsor visas for design engineers in Washington?
Boeing is among the largest sponsors of design engineers in Washington, particularly for aerospace and structural roles based in the Puget Sound region. Microsoft, Amazon, and their hardware divisions regularly sponsor design engineers working on devices and cloud infrastructure. Medical device companies like Stryker and Philips also have Washington design engineering teams with documented visa sponsorship histories.
Which visa types are most common for design engineer roles in Washington?
The H-1B is the most common visa for design engineers in Washington, as most roles require at least a bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or aerospace engineering. Candidates from Australia may qualify for the E-3 visa, and Canadian and Mexican nationals can use the TN visa under the USMCA. Employers with multinational operations sometimes use the L-1 for engineers transferring from overseas offices.
Which cities in Washington have the most design engineer sponsorship jobs?
The Seattle-Bellevue metro area concentrates the overwhelming share of design engineer sponsorship activity in Washington, anchored by Boeing's Everett and Renton facilities and the Eastside tech corridor. Redmond is a hub for hardware design engineers at Microsoft. Spokane and the Tri-Cities area have smaller but active aerospace and defense engineering employer bases with occasional sponsorship openings.
How to find design engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Washington?
Migrate Mate filters design engineer roles specifically by visa sponsorship status, so you can focus exclusively on Washington employers already willing to sponsor. Rather than sifting through thousands of general postings, Migrate Mate surfaces aerospace, hardware, and tech design engineering positions in the Seattle-Bellevue area and beyond that match your visa situation. Searching by role and state together significantly narrows the field.
Are there state-specific factors design engineers should know about the Washington job market?
Washington has no state income tax, which affects prevailing wage comparisons relative to other states. The Boeing supply chain creates a dense secondary market of design engineering roles at suppliers and contractors throughout the Puget Sound region, many of which also sponsor visas. University of Washington and Washington State University feed a steady pipeline of engineering graduates, meaning entry-level competition is high but experienced design engineers remain in strong demand.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored design engineer jobs in Washington?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
