Which companies in Washington sponsor visas for technical project managers?
Microsoft, Amazon, Boeing, Expedia, Tableau, Salesforce, and T-Mobile are among the most active sponsors for technical project managers in Washington. These employers have established immigration programs and regularly file H-1B visa petitions for project management roles tied to engineering, cloud infrastructure, and product delivery teams. Consulting firms like Accenture and Infosys also sponsor technical project managers through their Seattle-area offices.
What visa types are most common for technical project managers in Washington?
The H-1B is the most common visa for technical project managers in Washington, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant technical field such as computer science, engineering, or information systems. Candidates from Canada or Mexico may qualify for TN visa status under the USMCA. Australians may be eligible for the E-3 visa. L-1 visa transfers are also possible for intracompany moves to Washington-based offices.
Which cities in Washington have the most technical project manager sponsorship jobs?
Seattle accounts for the largest share of technical project manager sponsorship jobs in Washington, driven by its dense concentration of major tech employers. Redmond and Bellevue are close behind, anchored by Microsoft's headquarters and a thriving cluster of mid-size technology companies. Kirkland, Bothell, and Renton also see steady demand, particularly from Boeing, healthcare technology firms, and cloud services companies with regional operations.
How to find technical project manager visa sponsorship jobs in Washington?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates and filters technical project manager roles in Washington by visa sponsorship eligibility, saving you from sorting through listings that won't support your visa. The platform surfaces employers with a documented history of H-1B and other sponsorship filings in the region, which is especially useful for navigating the Seattle and Bellevue tech markets where competition is high but sponsoring employers are plentiful.
Are there any Washington-specific considerations for technical project managers seeking visa sponsorship?
Washington's Department of Labor and Industries sets prevailing wage benchmarks that employers must meet when filing Labor Condition Applications for H-1B roles, and these figures reflect the state's high cost of living in the Seattle metropolitan area. Washington has no state income tax, which affects total compensation comparisons. Proximity to major universities like the University of Washington also means employers in the region frequently recruit internationally, making it a relatively active sponsorship market for technical project managers.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored technical project manager jobs in Washington?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
