Which companies sponsor visas for finance associates in Wisconsin?
Milwaukee-based firms are the most active sponsors for finance associate roles in Wisconsin. Northwestern Mutual, Robert W. Baird, and Fiserv have histories of sponsoring H-1B workers in finance and analytical roles. Johnson Controls and Kohl's corporate finance divisions also appear in Department of Labor LCA disclosure data. Madison-area employers, including American Family Insurance and CUNA Mutual Group, round out the sponsorship picture for international candidates.
Which visa types are most common for finance associate roles in Wisconsin?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for finance associate positions in Wisconsin, as these roles typically require a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. F-1 OPT and STEM OPT extension periods are also commonly used by recent graduates before transitioning to H-1B sponsorship. Candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may qualify for TN status under the economist or accountant categories.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most finance associate sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee is by far the largest market for finance associate visa sponsorship in Wisconsin, anchored by its concentration of financial services, insurance, and corporate headquarters. Madison is the second-strongest city, driven by university-adjacent fintech activity, insurance firms, and state government finance roles. Green Bay and Waukesha have smaller but active corporate finance presences through manufacturing and regional banking employers.
How to find finance associate visa sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate is a dedicated job board for international candidates, filtering finance associate roles in Wisconsin by employers with active visa sponsorship histories. Rather than sorting through thousands of generic postings, you can browse positions specifically matched to your work authorization needs. Migrate Mate covers roles across Milwaukee, Madison, and other Wisconsin markets, making it a practical starting point for international job seekers targeting finance careers in the state.
Are there state-specific considerations for finance associates seeking sponsorship in Wisconsin?
Wisconsin's finance associate market benefits from a strong university pipeline, with the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Marquette University supplying a steady flow of international graduates who pursue OPT and H-1B sponsorship. Employers filing Labor Condition Applications must pay the Department of Labor prevailing wage for the Milwaukee or Madison metropolitan area, which varies by experience level and is publicly searchable in the OFLC wage library. Regional financial institutions tend to move more slowly on sponsorship decisions than large national firms.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored finance associate jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
