Job Summary
Department Specific Responsibilities
- Oversees the financial activities for the IU Indianapolis campus to ensure compliance with IU policy, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB), and other accounting standards such that the financial records are accurate and with integrity.
- Provides direction and oversight for the budgeting process at IU Indianapolis for the Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration.
- Leads and directs the Financial Operations in supporting the financial data and information needs of the Vice Chancellor and Campus Administration for strategic and operational decision-making.
- Serves as a resource for preparing financial analyses for projects at IU Indianapolis. Directs the year-end closing activities for IU Indianapolis.
- Monitors cash balances, budget balances and projections to identify potential concerns.
- Provides oversight for the daily operations of the IU Indianapolis Finance team including the Indianapolis Budget Office and the Indianapolis Office of the Bursar.
- Serves as campus liaison with the University Budget Office, University Bursar and the University Controller's Office for budget and financial transactions.
General Responsibilities
- Directs the daily and long-term financial and/or administrative operations of multiple university units or an unusually large multi-faceted academic, research, and teaching department within a school or college.
- Responsible for accuracy, timelines, and the general integrity of the Financial Administration family, and fiscal, policy, and internal control management.
- Creates annual revenue and expenditure budget for a large school/college. Develops budgetary policies and procedures.
- Develops models and provides recommendations to executive leadership for resource allocations and to enhance financial performance.
- Develops and introduces growth strategies and identifies risks.
- Monitors division and campus budgets and reports any significant deviations from approved budgets.
- Controls all expenditures and statement of accounts to ensure regulatory compliance and fiscal integrity.
- Directs the management of general appropriation, endowment, federal and non-federal grants and contracts, and gift funds.
- Develops, plans, and directs special projects, which may include space renovations, space allocations, staffing, equipment purchases, long-range plans, leasing of off-campus space and services.
- Provides leadership and direction through other managers.

$173,763.20 to $181,500.00 annually, reflecting the requirement for the finalist to possess extensive financial expertise as well as demonstrated leadership experience.
