Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to perform quality inspections, ensure compliance with welding codes and project specifications, and support production operations in a structural steel fabrication environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform visual, layout, and dimensional inspections of materials and fabricated assemblies.
- Coordinate quality inspections and hold points with DOT inspectors.
- Monitor welder qualification tests and welding parameters to ensure WPS compliance.
- Conduct bolt rotational capacity testing.
- Read and interpret welding codes, technical drawings, and project specifications.
- Work with production teams and outside inspectors to resolve quality issues.
- Maintain accurate inspection records, daily logs, and reports.
- Use Total Station equipment for dimensional checks as needed.
- Support continuous improvement in quality control and production processes.
- Promote workplace safety and maintain quality standards.
Qualifications
- CWI Certification required.
- NACE or BCI certification preferred.
- Experience in welding inspection, structural steel fabrication, or quality control.
- Knowledge of welding codes, WPS, and technical specifications.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Total Station experience preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work the assigned 2nd-shift schedule.
Pay: $26.00 - $40.00 per hour
