Tips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship Jobs in Wisconsin
Focus on Wisconsin's healthcare systems first
Large hospital networks like Froedtert, UW Health, and Ascension Wisconsin regularly sponsor Green Cards for physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals. These employers have established immigration programs and legal infrastructure to support the process.
Target food and beverage manufacturers in the Fox Valley
The Fox Cities region around Appleton and Oshkosh is home to major food processing employers. Companies operating at scale in this sector routinely sponsor PERM-based Green Cards for engineers, food scientists, and production managers.
Use Migrate Mate to filter by sponsorship intent
Searching for Green Card sponsorship jobs on Migrate Mate lets you filter specifically for Wisconsin employers willing to sponsor, saving time you'd otherwise spend screening hundreds of listings that don't mention sponsorship at all.
Research Wisconsin employers through PERM disclosure data
The Department of Labor publishes PERM labor certification data publicly. Searching this database by Wisconsin employer or city reveals which companies have recently sponsored Green Cards and in which occupational categories they hire most.
Prioritize employers in life sciences and biotech near Madison
Madison's research corridor, anchored by UW-Madison and companies like PerkinElmer and Exact Sciences, generates strong demand for research scientists and engineers. These roles frequently qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship from employers with active programs.
Engage Wisconsin staffing firms that specialize in sponsored placements
Several Milwaukee and Madison staffing agencies place international candidates with employers experienced in Green Card sponsorship. Identifying agencies that explicitly work with H-1B visa and Green Card candidates improves your chances of reaching the right hiring managers.

Healthcare systems across Milwaukee and Madison file PERM applications for physicians, nurses, and allied health roles. Advanced manufacturing and food processing employers in the Fox Valley and Milwaukee metro regularly sponsor engineers, technicians, and production specialists. Life sciences near Madison also generate consistent sponsorship activity.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee has the highest concentration of Green Card sponsoring employers, driven by its large healthcare systems, manufacturing base, and professional services sector. Madison follows closely, with sponsorship activity concentrated in healthcare, life sciences, and state government-adjacent research roles. Green Bay and Appleton are notable for food processing and manufacturing sponsorship, particularly for engineering and operations positions.
What types of roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in Wisconsin?
Roles requiring a specific bachelor's degree or higher in a defined field are most commonly sponsored. In Wisconsin, this includes software engineers, registered nurses, physicians, mechanical and industrial engineers, food scientists, and research scientists. What is the prevailing wage for Green Card jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
