Which accounting companies sponsor Green Card visas in Wisconsin?
Regional and national public accounting firms with significant Wisconsin presence, including Wipfli, CliftonLarsonAllen, and Baker Tilly, have sponsored Green Cards for accounting professionals. Large Wisconsin-headquartered corporations such as Kohler, Johnson Controls, Northwestern Mutual, and Kohl's also file immigrant petitions for staff accountants, internal auditors, and financial analysts in their corporate finance functions.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most accounting Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee is the primary hub, home to major corporate headquarters and the largest public accounting offices in the state. Madison follows closely, driven by state government contractors, technology firms, and the University of Wisconsin system's affiliated organizations. Green Bay and Appleton also generate sponsorship opportunities through their strong manufacturing and insurance sectors, particularly for cost accountants and financial reporting roles.
What types of accounting roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in Wisconsin?
Roles requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance, or a related field are most commonly sponsored under the EB-3 skilled worker category or EB-2 for positions requiring advanced degrees. Staff accountants, senior auditors, cost accountants, tax specialists, and financial analysts are the most frequently sponsored titles. Positions with highly specific technical requirements, such as GAAP compliance or SEC reporting expertise, tend to attract employer-sponsored petitions.
How do I find accounting Green Card sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate lists accounting jobs in Wisconsin where employers are open to Green Card sponsorship, letting you filter specifically by visa type and state rather than sorting through postings that don't address immigration. Because many Wisconsin employers in manufacturing, insurance, and public accounting do sponsor immigrant petitions, searching Migrate Mate with accounting and Wisconsin filters surfaces the most relevant opportunities without the guesswork.
Are there state-specific considerations for Green Card sponsorship in accounting roles in Wisconsin?
Wisconsin does not impose state-level immigration requirements beyond federal law, so the Green Card process follows standard PERM labor certification through the Department of Labor, followed by an I-140 immigrant petition. Wisconsin's relatively lower cost of living compared to coastal markets means prevailing wage determinations under PERM can reflect regional salary norms, which employers must meet or exceed. Processing timelines depend on the employee's country of birth, not Wisconsin location.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card accounting jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
