Search Accounting Jobs in OregonAccounting Green Card Sponsorship Jobs in Oregon: Frequently Asked Questions
Which accounting companies sponsor Green Card visas in Oregon?
Large Oregon-based employers with established immigration programs include Nike, Intel, and Precision Castparts, which have hired sponsored accounting professionals in roles like financial reporting and tax. Regional Big Four offices in Portland (Deloitte, PwC, KPMG, Ernst & Young) also sponsor Green Cards for senior staff and managers. Smaller regional CPA firms sponsor less frequently, typically for specialized or hard-to-fill roles.
Which cities in Oregon have the most accounting Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Portland accounts for the majority of accounting Green Card sponsorship activity in Oregon, driven by its concentration of corporate headquarters, financial services firms, and Big Four offices. Beaverton and Hillsboro, home to Intel and other tech employers, are also active markets. Salem has accounting opportunities tied to state government contractors, and Eugene has a smaller but consistent presence through university-affiliated and regional employers.
What types of accounting roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in Oregon?
Roles that most commonly attract Green Card sponsorship include senior accountants, tax managers, audit managers, financial controllers, and forensic accountants. These positions typically require a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field, and many employers prefer candidates with a CPA license. Advisory and technical roles within Big Four firms or large corporate finance departments are among the most consistent sources of sponsorship in Oregon.
How do I find accounting Green Card sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter by visa type (Green Card), state (Oregon), and industry (accounting) to see active roles from employers with documented sponsorship histories. This is more targeted than general job searches, which rarely surface visa sponsorship details upfront. Migrate Mate also helps you identify which Oregon employers have sponsored accounting professionals in the past, saving significant research time.
Are there any Oregon-specific considerations for accounting Green Card sponsorship?
Oregon has no state income tax on wages for the purposes of prevailing wage calculations, but employers must still meet federal Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements when filing a PERM labor certification. Oregon's active CPA licensure requirements can strengthen a sponsorship case, as licensed roles more clearly qualify as specialty occupations. Portland's competitive accounting market means PERM recruitment steps, which require demonstrating no qualified U.S. workers are available, can be more involved.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card accounting jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
